The 2022 bombing of Poland
« on: November 16, 2022, 03:41:58 pm »
Looks like Russia bombed Poland. On purpose? By accident? If it's the former let the real war begin. Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead. If the latter, best get some Russians groveling quickly.

It’s inconclusive at the moment.

It could've been misfired by the Ukrainian military. We really don't know yet.

Poland just can't seem to catch a break. First it was the 1215 Hungarian raid on Poland, then the Siege of Smolensk in 1632, and now this.

At least it happened ten years ago, according to the recently modified thread title. I wonder how things turned out.

Why did VI change this to 2012? It happened last night/today. Shakes head...pours another beer.

2012, what memories. Not sure if 2012 or 2008 was my favorite over-a-decade-but-less-than-two-decades-ago leap year, but it's certainly one of those years. I think about them all the time.

Walking down long empty hallways while texting, one's fingers hits a digit to the one next to it sometimes. I just finished my hump day Wednesday, 7 classes. I would've fixed it now if taeyang hadn't an hour and a half ago.  Trooper!

But what was the point of change in the beginning? We all knew it was yesterday!

What's with my post deletion.?

"Poland" was not exactly descriptive enough, especially since a month or more from now a piece of info may surface; and Poland is a beatiful country not reduced to this.

Thread titles should reflect the topic. It is not a big deal. We just try to make titles reflect the discussion.

It’s funny/crazy how many pundits said it was Russia and literally chuckled at the idea it could have come from ukraine forces. It seemed from the get go it was an accident yet they think ukraine is impervious to accidents especially if it goes against a certain narrative.

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/11/16/what-we-know-about-the-explosion-in-poland

According to Aljazeera, Polish authorities suspect that the explosion was caused by an anti-missile defense rocket, most likely Ukrainian in origin.

Whether it was Russian or Ukrainian, it seems that Poland believes it was in no way deliberate.
Still, it caused 2 deaths.

False alarm, chickenhawks/chickenlols. It wasn't Russia afterall.

Surprised nobody has made more of Jens Stoltenberg's lol of a statement saying it's still Russia's fault anyway. There's surely a bit of moral grandstanding to be squeezed out of it.

The same conditioning that happened with Trump/The Clintons happened with Ukraine. Literally can't say anything that acknowledges mistakes/errors/wrongdoing/failures on one side and the other is apparently simultaneously evil, sinister, cunningly manipulative, corrupt, bumbling, drunk, blindly obedient but utterly slipshod and is both a massive juggernaut and somehow utterly understaffed.

It's where someone completely turns off their brain and critical thinking and bases things being true or not on personal dislike. You'll see people get outraged at someone for pointing out say, Russia isn't using white phosphorous but thermite munitions and call them pro-Putin.

Like, if this was WWII you'd be called Pro-Hitler for acknowledging the fall of France or Pro-Tojo for saying the Japanese aren't bumblers and the Zero might be a dangerous adversary.

The problem is that a decent chunk of the population didnt really grow up with the Cold War or its too distant of a memory and don't really grasp the dangers and the tightrope you have to walk. Then you also have boomers who seem to have concluded that our biggest mistake wasn't marching into Moscow.

The dumbness has been gobsmacking. What has been one of the most corrupt countries in Europe and not even a full democracy (i.e. Ukraine), suddenly too many people for comfort want to throw us into nuclear confrontation for these people. **** that.

It is! Even the Poles say so.
