mostly modern (jays cup this weekend!) but i also have decks for legacy, pioneer, and yes, even premodern. i do play commander but edh players always have spare decks sitting around so i havent invested in it myself lol.

I have a few Modern decks but clearly gravitate towards the old frame cards (pre-8th ed. and Mirrodin). With the older cards I can at least tell them apart most of the time purely based on the art; the newer ones mostly look the same to me, like this dull flat art that just doesn't pop out if that makes any sense. And of course I just prefer the older game play in general.

It's this type of thinking that does more harm than good. Aquatic marshmallows are still part of the marshmallow family, whether you want to admit it or not! Different shapes, same genus and all that as they say.

for legacy I have taxes (60 count, no yorion) and most of maverick - think im missing a single green suns, but thats also including cards i switch over from taxes. will probably complete it separately sometime next year. considered stoneblade at some point, maybe i will invest in a couple tundras if they ever dip a bit in price.

art has been getting worse, and wizards business model has been growing closer and closer to that of pokemon and yugioh, unfortunately. i prefer old borders mainly because they look cleaner, none of this smooth-lined "modernized" nonsense. and they also dont have that stupid holographic circle on them.
