Ideas that seemed new to you but weren't; and the opposite
« on: December 17, 2022, 10:30:15 am »
Cashew nuts and cranberries I realized were an amazing combo i packed for my hikes. I thought this a new thing. I googled it afterwards: 4000+ hits. Oh. K.

Ham with peanut butter! ... tons of hits online praising the duo.

Today a story popped up about Superman and Wonder Woman cameos being deleted from the release of an upcoming film of The Flash, and i thought: What if Superman & Wonder Woman had a baby? ... OMG. The Internet is obsessed with this question i had never fathomed would take more than ten minutes of one's time.

1. WHAT IDEAS OF YOURS WERE YOU SURPRISED WEREN'T NEW?
and/or...
2. WHAT IDEAS OF YOURS DO YOU NOW THINK ARE NEW?

Answer key:
1. Some
2. None

Help others, especially animals. Say what you think, being considerate of others. Appreciate more than deprecate. Teach well and jump on teachable moments. Enjoy Korea as it is, without changing it. Yet, at times, change your life for the better. "The most important [thing] is to have a good day."

I had “new” ideas on how society could be while in America, and then came here and realized East Asia has been doing them for 3,000 years!! It was an embarrassing level of ignorance of the world, but in my defense a lot of that goes on over there because of only 300 years history. There’s actually not a lot of new ideas.

You thought that was a cool new idea?
How did you find out it wasn't?

Cats in parachutes.

(You can't make this **** up)

A gov't op no less.

And here i thought i could start a Youtube sensation.

Quote
Operation Cat Drop is the name given to the delivery of some 14,000 cats by the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force to the remote village of Sarawak, in the British colony of Borneo in 1960. The cats were flown out of Singapore and delivered in crates dropped by parachutes as part of a broader program of supplying cats to combat a plague of rats. The operation was reported as a "success" at the time.

A few years ago thought I had invented a new thing, coffee with avocado, or 'coffeecado' as I called it. Upon googling options for starting my own coffeecado business I was dismayed to discover that coffee with avocado is already a thing. I could have been somebody, dammit!

A fun fact: "avocado" comes from an ancient Aztec word for testicle due to its shape.

I asked a date in uni what fragrance she was wearing and she said the perfect answer followed by a surprise: "Me!" she said, and we smiled. Then she added "and avocado spray", a perfume i'd never heard of.

Socks with sandals
That was cringe worthy back home.

But after 20 years of watching Koreans wear slippers everywhere in every season...

I have worn slippers with socks to CU. It felt wrong. But also easy and safe. So f it.

Sounds good Billy. I'm a sandwich man. I'll try most things between 2 or more slices of bread.

Glad to see that your 'socks and sandals' didn't get wiped this time round.
