NFL playoffs... 8 teams... "Who dat?"
« on: January 21, 2023, 10:52:32 am »
Cincy is the hot underdog.
Buffalo the heart pull.
San Fran the juggernault.
Philly the early Eagle needing to fly!
Dallas posing but at times pretty well.
KC kinda chuckling cuz of MVP Mahomes.
Jags & Giants GTFOOMS (MS= my stadium; the doors will be blown off their visiting rooms this weekend).

Book it.

Do you until you do.
Go sockless.
The cockroaches will outlive you though. But ****!

Picking the favorites against big underdogs. What a surprise.

Go Gators!? ... you neither represent Vegas odds nor your alumni in the games!

Nor the NFL network!

Cincy went to the Superbowl last year but KC and Buffalo have been the talk of the conference this year; the Eagles have won the most and are favored many places, though i'm among the minority who think the championship means beating the 49ers (Philly if they do it; whichever AFCer survives the Bengals, Bills, Chiefs onslaught).

The favorites in the AFC conference are NOT the Bengals but i pick them: Cincy has the most complete team; i don't trust the KC secondary so Mahomes has to score 30+ points to beat them; Buffalo has a wildly turnover-likely YOLO qb and a lack of a run game.

So, whereas most predict a KC or Buffalo vs. Philly Superbowl, i have predicted a Cincy vs. San Fran final.

All good given the Giants and Jaguars are still in it but are posers: put cheddar against. Hard.

With home field advantage worth three points, Buffalo isn't much of a favorite. Picking SF over Philly with an injured Jalen Hurts isn't much of a stretch. Giants over Eagles would be a somewhat gutsy call, less so with Hurts an unknown. I like the Giants; they've got nothing to lose.

On any given Sunday.

To be clear: every iota of my being wants Hurts to win! I just think it ain't happening. :(

I mean Philly vs. Goliath (San Fran).

OF COURSE the Eagles wIll BUZZ SAW through the divisional round: Vegas should have stopped taking bets. Look at offense line versus defensive line! On both sides of the ball, minus the all-star guy who needs a career-best hof-type game.

I want a KC vs. Philly final. .. not because they are #1 seeds in their conferences, but because the Kelce brothers are my fav!

But i fear Ciny vs. San Fran is what we're getting.

It's about the trenches.

It wasn't even close. 28-0 until late.

As said cuz widely known:
predicted a Cincy vs. San Fran final.

They overachieved and nothing to feel bad about. They maxed out their talent, but clearly were outmatched. Heck, both teams won a playoff round when even their own fan base didn't expect a playoff run!

Tomorrow is the huge game: Buffalo vs. Cincy.

They're all big games.

Giants weren't ready for the big stage. Jaguars were but trying to do too much at the end of the game cost them.

You do a disservice to real fans who stand behind their teams no matter what--Giants and Jags fans were all in even though the odds were against them.

#3 beat #2 in the AFC, as predicted here.

Cincy is a complete team. Their defense is real and their QB is unreal. Buffalo has had no run game all season long so the d box is always light and receivers double covered. Diggs has had mvp effort but no votes. A coach or GM needs firing. This team's glaring weakness was never addressed.

I wish Mahomes leads KC to victory over them in the conference final, but i ain't betting on it. Cincy has owned KC their last three meetings, and Mahomes is banged up. Jones and coaching are the only advantage for the chiefs in the game.

Poor analysis. Buffalo does have a running game, for example. Von Miller, a big part of their defense, was out for the season with an injury. For some reason, the Bills just didn't show up. Hangover from Hamlin injury?

You were all Bengals and now you're rooting for KC?

Poor analysis. Buffalo does have a running game, for example.
??, Poor analysis by PFF (Trevor, Connor, Steve, Sam), by ESPN's Get Up crew, by FOX's Shannon Sharpe, by the NFL NETWORK's ATN crew (especially Gregg and Mark)... they all have for months been saying Buffalo underutilizes the running backs, that Josh Allen is relied on to play hero ball too often, hence his high number of interceptions and himself - the QB as the team's top rusher when he has no receiver open. Jalen Hurts was similarly relied on last year but this year Philly has committed more to giving RBs the ball, opening up the RP options and less double coverage for outside throws.

Quote
Von Miller, a big part of their defense, was out for the season with an injury.
Of course, that really hurt their pass rush; they had brought him in to pressure and sack QBs.

They had no problem in the Wild Card round.
They just faced a team better in almost all areas, except at QB was debated a lot: Burrow playing like Montana/Brady with his poise and accuracy, changing some media member minds about Allen being better (e.g., he looking "indecisive", making bad decisions, inaccurate throws at key moments.

Talking heads, blah, blah, blah.

Underutilizing the running game is different from having no running game.

Under pressure, Allen reverts to type. Burrow is a coach's son who knows the game much better. Plus he's got a much better receiving corps to throw to. I still think the emotion that had been expended on Hamlin's injury and recovery took a lot out of the Bills.

The Eagles traded for A J Brown. That has really opened up their offense. Hurts still routinely runs the ball.

Watch the games.

Out of the remaining teams, the least worst outcome for the SB would be Bengals vs Eagles.

Anything but Chiefs vs Whiners.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. It would have been interesting to see that play develop but SF nipped it in the bud.
