My Horror Novel
« on: February 01, 2023, 12:41:58 am »
I wrote a horror novel. It's roughly 100,000 words. So it takes about 8 hours to read.

It's called The Demon in the Doll. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Demon-Doll-Jack-Woodd-ebook/dp/B0BQGKMJ6V/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1675182529&sr=8-2

You can purchase it for .99 cents on Amazon. That's the lowest price authorized by the company. I'm not allowed to give them away.

But you can read for free at http://wattpad.com. Just type The Demon in the Doll into the search engine.

If you got nothing better to do, then give it a try.

Thanks.

Thanks Kengreen. I'll have a read. Glad you are still in the land of the living. Are you still in China?

Thanks for your support. But I'm not sure if it's very good. If it sucks, just stop reading. I need to know if I should break my pencils. I'm currently hanging out in my home country.

Is it a draft for a possible future mainstream press publication?
If so, I'd gladly help copyedit. Ir's in my blood.
I have edited master's and a Ph.D thesis for coin back in the day, was a newspaper news editor, features editor and head editor (ran a newsroom) for three different publications last century. I'd gladly help tune up a draft.

Kengreen has written a couple of books now. I tried to read his first but just wasn't for me. His best work was in his various blogs over time. I found the stories relatable and hilarious, albeit kind of depressing at times. He definitely has a knack for storytelling though.

  It would be fun trying to sort out the indecipherable messages as you read.

The elephant in the room: why does his mother buy him a sex doll? THAT is a story in itself. What's her backstory?

I do ZERO editing late Friday and Saturday nights. :) Obviously.

Actually, the free Wattpad version has a comment section after every chapter. Any suggestions would be appreciated. However, I can't pay any money. My books all together have only sold about 200 copies. It's not like I'm getting rich of this crap.

One of his mother's is an alcoholic, and the other is suffering from opioid addiction. They don't make good decisions. It's a dysfunctional family.

I'd be curious to read the novel after VanIslander's edits.

I'm guessing it would feature a strong father figure, and a main character that is trying to decide whether to pursue a professional career as a football player or as an ESL teacher.

I'm more interested in his foray into erotic literature with tales of the wrestling team and Mark's mom. It was more than just cookies those young men were eating.

He announced a launch party at his local CU.  It's tentatively titled "Mark's Mom's Muffins."  It's described as  "A young man's erotic journey from the locker room to the bedroom."
