Hey all,
I used this for an online grade three lesson with fairly low level students. A bit of it definitely went over their heads but I think it was more scary for them seeing complete sentences because they certain know all the colours, numbers and school item words in the story. The story itself has been stolen from a Backpack 2 book that is used at a lot of hagwons from what I hear and I found an adobe copy of the stories online. Anyways, it's definitely something to tinker around with. We read the story (well I did with them echoing sort of) and then I went back through the pictures and had them tell me what the pictures were. Afterwords I'd highlight each item on the slide. Enjoy

I'm having trouble with the uploader so I'm sorry if this has already appeared!

The ppt is the story, and the open office doc is the script. I'm waiting for my co-teacher to translate it for the kids, but I'll be waiting a long time so if you have co-teachers who are less busy perhaps you can use this for a few after school lessons or something.

I used this powerpoint that I first saw elsewhere, and then went back through and added more of the original pictures since the student level was low and that makes it. I was teaching it to an online class that was doing the do you like unit. I had them read along certain parts they knew how to say i.e. "do you like" and i'd use the annotate functions to point out what certain words were. I think they can get the general idea but it'd obviously be even better with older kids. It was great to get to teach a favourite childhood story either way. Figured I'd post the text here to help others who may like to do the same. Much props to the good Dr.

Here are some materials for a kindergarten lesson i have been asked to do. If i'm asked to do more i will use the extra ideas which are listed at the end of the lesson plan. 'the very hungry caterpillar' should be an hour lesson up to the sequencing activity and maybe a colouring activity depending how slow they are at sticking. I will ask them comprehension questions throughout the activity, what did he eat on wednesday? How many? etc...

Here is first contribution: The Rolling Roll, a Slavic story.
I downloaded a story PPT with sound from ESLPrintables, but it needed alot of editing before it would be suitable for my class. Here is my version, with simplified dialogs, full vocabulary explanation, with the original songs, plus a snip from a Korean pop song to add interest. Can be followed by a question / answer session, a worksheet, role-play, etc.
Target language: contains many past tense verbs, plus lots more

Great idea! My school has no books, so I rewrote/illustrated a couple of fairy tales (Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Pigs) that I do different activities with for all grades. Each of mine have questions every 4-5 slides and for some of the more competitive classes I keep score like a game. I am glad to get some new stories!

Dr Seuss - Green Eggs and Ham. I think this is the original. I can't remember, but I think I made this PPT with the book pictures that I found online, but I inserted Comic Sans text boxes with bigger font size.

Here is Play Ball, one of those "Little Critter" books. It mentions 6 sports and 6 sports actions. If the audio doesn't work and you want to use it, message me and I'll upload the sound files separately.

Edit: It looks like the sound does not work in this file, at least for some people (I'm guessing it has to do with the version of PowerPoint you're using... though it does work on my 2003 version) Anyway, the wav file is the one I used in the ppt. I set it to play continuously from the first slide, and timed the slides to change at the cues. If you're interested, the mp3 is a listen and repeat track, but I didn't use it myself.

Silly Sally. More Silly Sally teaching materials are posted in the thread for Grade 5 Lesson 13 - "What Did You Do Yesterday?"

(Silly Sally is a good book for teaching/reviewing "ing" verbs, in its original form, or past tense verbs, if slightly modified. In the "what did you do?" thread, there is a video file posted with the song version of the original "ing" text.)
