My students have a deep and irrational love for the Ghostbusters bomb game ("Teacher, ghost game! Woo-oo-oo-ooo!"), and so I have made an unseasonal game for this lesson using the template they love so much.  If your kids go gaga for ghosts, feel free to use it.  :)

Grade 4 Lesson 8: Can you help me?

Print out (laminate) and distribute cards to the class. Print enough so that there are at least 2 of each among the students. Show the PPT, students must watch for a picture that goes with their own (ex: fire - firefighter). The first student to raise their hand and answer correctly gets the point. Best played in teams.

3rd period - nothing is orginal just tweaked

Motivation: the video with the dinosaur.

Review: making sentences

study: wordsearch-  first go over the vocabulary and then translate into Korean.  Have the kids work together in their groups.  Put their teams numbers on the white board and when students are finished have them come up and put a magnetic for each person who is done by their team number.  Reward with a stamp at the end of class.

Activity: mario game using the key sentences (cut the paper, roll the paper, etc)

Moc-Moc-a-Moc, thank-you for Minsu's adventure.  I appreciated the effort you put into it, and the fact that the kids can practice
the key expressions in context.  I can tell you made it conscientiously, rather than just wowing kids by throwing together some
cool graphics and sound effects.

Here's a basic vocab ppt which expands some on the language in the text book, and a little game I put together to kill time. It uses the characters from last year's book, but I don't think the kids will mind particularly.

I used moc's Vocab presentation, but I changed it to focus a bit more on the vocabulary outlined in the lesson.  I also changed a lot of the bright red to other colors, because apparently red is the color of death or something.  SOOO... here's what I ended up doing.

Here is a bomb game posted by Rilakuma last year, edited so that the language matches the " ________, please." format for this lesson (rather than "Can you help me _______?" from other books).

Here is an intro ppt with all the words and expressions.

I also made a worksheet for the dino video. And also used a ppt that was already loaded onto here for a fill in the blanks ppt. It is all that dino video. It was really great. I will upload the video clip as well. I can't remember if it was already loaded here or not. If it was, sorry for the copy.

Moc-moc,

Thank you for your great powerpoints. It's just the type I like : large and minimal text, simple, clear, and well-designed. Many thanks!!
