L.A.R.P./Cardboard Tube Fighting Lesson
« on: June 27, 2011, 11:00:45 am »
I am planning on doing a lesson fusing cardboard tube fighting and larp (live action role play) if this proves successful I will post the powerpoint. I have a few questions concerning I guess I should say the equipment for this lesson. I want to know if there is a budget for the normal school year or is that only for summer/winter camp? Also, where can I find cardboard tubes worthy enough for a sword fight? I know this may seem like a bizarre question but I think this lesson topic has potential if done right. Thanks!

You've got to find a ton of gift wrap tubes.  You choose one to be the "sword".  Take another tube, and cut it length wise, so that you can overlap it into itself and slide it inside the "sword".  Repeat about a hundred times until you've got a cardboard tube that's dense enough not to break.

That being said, once it's dense enough not to break, it's also strong enough to break a nose.  I'm curious to know what you're planning...
