This belongs in Unit 7 How's the weather?. It's for the first period. A simple ppt for low level students. It goes over the key expressions. I got a lot of the photos from a ppt Sheila made. Thanks.

Here is the ppt for the 2nd period. It only covers what's in the book. Nothing else. Good for low level students.

Cheers

here is the clap game with a and b. My co-teacher and I have decided to cut out the craft activities and instead focus on phonics for period 3 and 4.  We will do A and B 3rd period and focus on C and D for 4th period. I suggest the same for low level students.

Happy Teaching!

Hello everyone,

I just came up with a couple new verses for the itsy bitsy spider song, which includes rain, sun, snow, and wind.
This would be great for teaching young students weather expressions (accompanied with visuals, which I still need to make).

After they know the song, it's also useful for revisiting when focusing on past tense verbs or prepositions.
As well as rhythm and stress/prominence, I might add. ;)

Enjoy!

Hey I love the idea with the weather wheel. I'd love to use that tomorrow, but my school doesn't have any of the pins to attach the hand to the weather wheel. Any idea on where I can pick some of those up. I live in Daejeon close to the Say department store.

I made a Mario game based off of the 4th grade lesson, but edited it for this lesson. It's basically only the book stuff (I threw in snowy, since I'm guessing it snows here in Korea in winter time, not having experienced it myself yet.). I couldn't find any good games for just the vocab for this lesson, so here you go!

Made a basic ppt with the vocabulary words. At the end there is a short 4 slide hidden picture game.

Here is a powerpoint game that I made.  I had the students use the picture cards from the back of the book.  Divide into teams.  Show the slide.  First team with everyone holding up the correct card gets a point.  Everyone calls out the correct weather.  Then ask them what they should wear.  I did some other variations like showing the weather and they must hold up the correct clothing.  Pretty simple, but effective.

You'll need a die for this one, folks. The students really enjoy it. Feel free to modify it as you please.

I noticed somebody made a clap game for A & B, but not for C & D! So I made one for C & D...

Here you go! Feel free to change the sentences if they're weird! (It's hard writing super simple sentences!!)

(My kids loved the clap game for A & B!)
