Hi Leo,

Big fan of your lessons...  thanks for your contributions to the site.

I know you use a Mac to put your ppt's together.  Maybe thats why the video's embedded in your ppt aren't working for me.  Is anyone else having the same problem?

If you have the time do you think you could you upload the actual videos themselves or the provide links?  I'd really like to use this lesson ^^

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback dachiza!

I've uploaded a new version of the PPT (I accidentally uploaded an old version) as well as the media files as per your request.

Question: Did you have problems with video files and music files in all of my PPTX lessons?

It's odd, not until recently.  I had trouble playing the videos in this lesson and the video associated with the "big, bigger" lesson (planet video on the second slide).

Thanks!  My kids love your lessons!

Hi Leo,

I really want to use this lesson next week, it looks awesome, but only some of the videos play and I can't download the mediafile. Well it downloads but then it refuses to open.

Thanks for the great work!

Do you have a .zip decompression program? When you double click it, does a program pop up that asks you to "unzip" or "decompress" the file?

Oh I don't know, it is all in Korean. I will try at home on my laptop hopefully that will work. And my computer at school always has some sort of a problem.

Thanks :)

If your school computer is using windows, download this: http://www.7-zip.org/

If the computer is very old, download the 32-bit version, if it's 1 or 2 years old, download the 64-bit version.

It's a highly useful piece of software, I'd even go so far as to say it's essential software (especially since a lot of Waygookers upload zipped folders to hold multiple media files).

Cheers~

Wow thanks for your help! I have tried downloading both versions but my computer is having none of it! The computer guy is coming on Monday so I will have him take a look at it. Frustrating because I wanted to use this lesson on Monday :(

Hey Leo,

I finally managed to download the mediafile, now my I need help getting the videos to play as you originally intended them to. How do I do that? As you can probably tell I am not all that clued up when it comes to computers.

Thanks for all your help!

You have 2 options.

Option 1
1 Go to the slide with the video and delete the non-working video.
2 Go to the tab at the top that says "insert" then go to "movie" and find the file on your computer.

Option 2
Keep the folder with the videos open and just switch between the PowerPoint and the videos folder and open each video up manually when you want to play it. The file names should be straight forward enough to figure out which ones to play (along with the preview photo that represents the file).

My bad. You're right, it wasn't included in the media file. I have re-uploaded it with the video.

This is a great idea.  I work at an all boys school so they are pretty rambunctious as it is.  I think this will be right up their alley.  Thanks!

Thanks Danihel. Out of curiosity, is "shred" an English slang term? I've never heard that before.
