Here is a Vocabulary Powerpoint for period 1; we usually do a worksheet that covers the vocabulary in Korean, beforehand.

Also find attached a Missing Dialogue Powerpoint, for period 3 or 4.
"Midway through the journey of our life, I found myself within a dark wood, for the right way had been lost."

I modified another a ppt that was posted the user KerryM on the Grade 4 I want some chicken page.

It's a basic GhostBusters game.  Hope it's useful.

Car Race game with foods

Just a heads up here to everyone, this unit "I Want Some Water" covers a lot of similar material to unit 10 "Do You Want Some More" from the grade 5 text.  For many more resources, and as a time saver, check out the material here and change as needed.

I made a read and mark game to go along with period 3.  Good for low level students.  Nothing different from what is in the book.

Happy Teaching!

Face Saviour stop referring to yourself in the third person, this makes Jamlove feel itchy and angry. Jamlove itchy, Jamlove no post Mario and Luigi intro in comic form for much laughs and jollity. Jamlove put lotion and stop itch so here is Mario and Luigi intro. Enjoy

I made some changes to the car racing game extra vocab for the questions, thanks to the original poster its a good game.

I played Food, Glorious Food, from the musical Oliver Twist as an intro to this class.
At the end I got each student to write 3 things they want to do before they are 30 on a piece of paper.  I gathered them and read them out and they had to guess who in the class wrote each three.

For period 2, instead of the wheel of doom game thing in the book I made a guess where the star is PPT, kids have to pick a picture saying 'I want some blah de blah' and then see if there is a star behind, no star they get a beating they find the star they get left alone or you could give them candy or something.

For chapter review:

Groups of four.
Each student has 6(or however many foods you want them to review) cards. Get them to write target vocab on card - cookie on one, milk another, cake, water etc. Each student has a different set of coloured cards. One has all red, another all blue etc.

Group says to one student, WHAT DO YOU WANT. Student calls on two other group members, e.g. I want mik, I want water, and takes both of their cards. Then group asks next student WHAT DO YOU WANT? and it continues.

Object of the game is to get as manycards as possible which are not the same colour as your starting cards. It becomes a guessing game/go fish style game after a while when everybody has lost track of who has what. When a student asks another for a cookie the other student might not always have one so the student will miss out on a card.

Reviews reading, writing listening and speaking.

Its my first contribution after a month of reading! Hope it helps someone. Hope to contribute more.

I've moved the ghostbusters game around a bit for the target language

"what do / does ____ want"
"_____ want(s) ______"
"How about you?"

I don't mind you using it, which is why I haven't plastered my name all over it as though I had any sort of copyright, or means to benefit from such.

depending on how strictly humour is regulated in your classroom you may wish to edit some questions.

Grade 4 Lesson 9 I want some water (Bora and Bandi Book) WRITING GAME
« Reply #19 on: October 13, 2011, 09:48:38 am »
This is a writting game. Students have to unscramble and put the sentences in the correct order. I use individual dry erase boards and have the kids work in teams. Then count down from 5 and when I get to one they have to raise the boards. Teams must all have the correct answers to get points. Yay, good times. haha. Enjoy
