Cheers.

Great idea! I was trying to figure out how to do something like this so your idea is a lot of help! My lunch speech club would like this idea to change things up from normal speeches.

Thanks!

I feel silly on this matter, but I cannot understand where to download your attached file.

I have never used this website before, but making all my own materials at a time when I am under extreme stress is just not possible.  So I would love to see what you have made!

I figured it out, thanks.

I had visited this website a long while ago, because it was recommended to me.  I browsed through some of the lesson plan material posts.  Unable to download anything I thought there was some problem with the website and did not return before this last weekend.

Anyway, now I'll check out the travel lesson and post some materials of my own.

To start off seems like a great lesson...my question is when you show the famous places do you skim though it or do you explain a little bit about each place? It seems like the activity in the end in which they have to produce a travel guide seems a bit difficult because they may have no idea as to which country has what famous place/structure and what kind of foods etc. What exactly do you look for in this? Also maybe I was thinking maybe adding a survey to survey each other (the students) would be helpful in figuring out where they are most interested in and sharing other details they might have with each other....

yep, so i think it depends on the level of students/how knowledgeable they are. so if you have a more knowledgeable class, you don't need to try as hard explaining, but i printed out example travel guides of famous places to circulate the room as well as guides created in my previous classes. a suggestion i had from one of my observers was to print out a fact sheet for designated places so they would know what content to include--of course that's more work for the teacher, but if your students really don't know anything about these places then i would suggest assigning each group a location and giving them a fact sheet about the place and perhaps even making a template travel guide for them to follow. i had to do some of these things for my lower levels and it seemed easier for them to grasp.

I think this one is great.  Maybe it's been buried for a while and needs a bump!  Great visuals - really engaging!
