Let's Go - all books
« on: November 10, 2010, 09:42:22 PM »
I don’t know whether there is a Let’s Go section but I thought I should post my lesson plans and PPT’s so they might help other people.

These are for afterschool classes where I don’t have a co-teacher. Some of the slides are translated before my lesson by my co-teacher into Korean, only the instructions generally. However, I find the students don’t often bother to read them and I certainly can’t read them out. I hope this helps. I’ll post my others for Book 4 and 5.

If anyone else is using the Let's Go books and has any ideas, PPTs, or advice. That would be great.

Here are my lesson plans and slides for Book 4 Let’s Go. My Grade 4 is a tricky class but hopefully someone will be able to use my material.

I think that it packs a lot of grammar into its units and my students are of a pretty high level. I don’t try and cover more than two pages now. Maybe a page and half. Maybe two if the book doesn’t throw anymore Grammar in and are just doing a chant or song.

But the books on their own are really dry and boring for the students. I found I had to do a lot of preparation to make them vaguely interesting. Hence the willingness to share! But good luck.

Unit 1 to Unit 6 pretty much. Let's Go 3 (Third Edition).

Some use Open Office instead of powerpoint. Not checked them in a while so some might include my ugly mug so just delete the pictures if they do. Files are to large to attach so download at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2C6AMZM5 in zip format.

This is great.  I'm also using the Let's Go and the problem I have is they gave the books based on grade not level.  So my low level 5th graders are using the level 5 book.  I have been taking just the main sentence and am having them listen and repeat.  This does get boring fast.  I'm in the process of making some games for them.  I will post them as I finish.  I should have one posted this week for level 6 Unit 5 by Friday.

I’m really glad people are finding this useful. And thanks a ton for the material. As I’ve mentioned previously these books pack a lot into each chapter and also I’m not always convinced of the order in which they teach things or the vocabulary they’ve decided to use.

I’m using the third edition too. And here’s my rough plan for my lesson 6 but is actually unit 2 page 11 and 12.

Just a warning that when I say lesson 1,2,3,4,5 etc I don’t mean unit! I’ve been taking it quite slow with this book. So the lessons refer to when I teach the students.  I’ll try and file all new docs by their unit. Sorry.

As promise... sorry it's a bit late.  This is my game that I made for the Level 6 Unit 5 lesson.  Hope this helps.

Disclaimer - I did not make the game just used the template and added the material for Let's Go Level 6 Unit 5.

1.Click on link.
2.Wait for the timer on the bottom right to get down to 0 and change into a box that says 'Regular Download'
3.Click on said box.
4.Once download is complete then you will need to unzip the file.
5.Open with 'Open Office' program.

(P.s. some of the materials might be useless but should be enough things people can re-use or change).

I teach two grade 3 afterschool classes. I think I used 3-1 for both but had prepared another one as well. If you need me to explain how to play the games just say.
