I don't think this chapter is that bad. I appreciate the curriculum writers attempt to review in an inclusive way. It's not perfect but it gives the students another opportunity to learn/review previous topics in a different context.Anywho, here's a reading game...I call it, Rhythm Reading. Basically, you divide your students into groups. Have a few reading passages to put up on the screen. Using a metronome, students go around reading one word of the passage to the beat. If a student messes up, they are out. Once a students messes up or you've gone around the room twice reading the same passage, you increase the metronome rhythm. (you can also keep the same passage and just increase the rhythm). You start off easy, 60bpm and can go all the way up to 240bpm. The player who wins, wins a point for their team. I can't attach the metronome files but you can find those on Youtube.
