Wheel of Fortune Style Point Spinner for Your Games
« on: April 04, 2012, 09:33:04 pm »
***EDIT: I saw there were some problems with my export, so I re-worked it.  The new files are below with added sound effects!***

Hello,

I made this Wheel of Fortune style point spinner in Flash to generate a random score.  The point values range from -10 to 50, but there's more spots for the low point values (10 and 20) then the higher point values.  Anyone should be able to use this with their games.  You can press and hold the "Spin" button to add some drama to the result.  The wheel will continue to spin until you release the button.

If it's useful enough, I'll spend the time to add in some bells and whistles, just let me know.

If you've never installed Flash before, you'll need to download and install a player, either browser-based or stand alone (called a projector).
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html should show you the download page.

Hello:) You're scoreboard looks awesome. I'd like to try it out but when I download the file and then try to open it it just disappears? I checked that I have flash player installed so I'm not sure why it isn't opening up. Anyway, is there anything extra I should be doing to open the file? Thanks!

Whoops, sorry I didn't see this earlier.

Make sure Flash is updated.  If you are running a current version, try specifying the application that opens it instead of letting the default program try to load it.  I've used it on OSX, Windows XP, and Windows 7, and used IE, Firefox, Flash's own player, and even Gom's player to open this.

If you still can't get it going, let me know what operating system, Flash version, and application you are using to open it.

Actually, I should just go home and republish this on some other formats.  Check back a bit later for that.

Here is a PPT with the Flash spinner inside.  This will allow you to mix it in with your other games.

You must keep the PPT and the Flash file in the SAME PLACE (same folder) for this to work.

If it's not working for you, check this page from Microsoft.
