Finally past the halfway mark for the handouts! I will not be making a handout for unit 9 until my school approves a new contract for me. Until then, enjoy what is here!

I hope they approve you, or who else will post materials 2 months ahead of time with me?  :D

- Struggling to make materials for this lesson, so I have a vocab PPT covering the limited vocab for the unit (which my students already know)
- Expressions PPT, covering three different ways to construct "I want to _____"
- Worksheet
- 'Scouting Around the World', simple PPT, students will guess where the scouts are from and we will discuss
- Cards for a game of Pictionary using infinitive forms, to work with the "I want to _____" structure

Here is a SpongeBob Bomb game I put together. I personally hate SpongeBob, but maybe the students will like it. Enjoy!

Word lotto game. Print the first slide and distribute sheets; alternatively just use blank paper.

Students pick three of twelve words from slide number 1 and write them down. Advance to the next slide to reveal just three of the words from slide 1 - if a student matches all three of his words, they win a sticker/candy/point/high 5/whatever. Repeat.

This is a simple rock, scissors paper game. Students work with a partner and play rock, scissors paper. The loser asks, "What do you want to do?" The winner looks at the picture and answers, "I want to _____," then they use an eraser to mark their spot. This continues until one of them gets to the finish. If time, they switch sides so they practice more vocab. I will use this with either lesson 1 or 2.

Vocab: I want to: make sandwiches, play basketball, play baseball, take a cooking class, learn Chinese, learn taekwondo, play the piano, play computer games, do my homework, clean my room.

My kids were ticking me off and we didn't play the Mario Game last lesson, so I made another one for this lesson. This one will be used near the beginning of the lesson (so I can use jrich's awesome Spongebob game) and has review from lessons 3-7 (especially directions).

Here's an all-new PowerPoint with basic sentences, variants on basic sentences, and an unscramble the sentence game at the end. Also includes some SpongeBob and Kungfu Panda to keep everyone amused.

Here's a really simple game to help students practice reading and writing skills (and speaking and listening if you make them say it aloud afterwards).

Cut up all the words and stick them in an envelope (1 envelope per team).
Students have a certain amount of time to mix and match as many sentences as possible.
Points can be awarded as you wish (grammar, effort, etc).

Use, share and modify the document at will.

Hi!

I made a Telepathy Game for lesson 8-4 (the writing lesson).

Basically, the students are shown 3-4 sentences (with pictures) and have to choose one to write down. If it is the correct one they'll get 1-3 points. You'll get it once you look through the .ppt. I've also attached a writing worksheet in case your students don't have a notebook, just make sure to print it so 2 pages are on one. There are 7 rounds to the game.

Also attached is a word and sentence scramble. It can be used as a review or a warm-up! For some reason it got kids who were normally quiet to raise their hands, so that felt good.

Storytime! Here's a dialog featuring the Beauty and the Beast characters, mostly taken from the book. Time to brush off that theater degree, people!

Wanna find the artists in your class? Try this activity:

Grab long sheets of paper (B4), fold the bottom up about an inch, and have kids choose what they want to do. It's best to give them a theme. For example, "What do you want to do this summer?" or "What do you want to do at the beach?"

Have them draw a picture to go with their sentence and have them fold the bottom up so it's hidden. After about 5 minutes, have them share their picture and get classmates to guess what they want to do.

Super simple, but takes up about 15-20 minutes!
