a) a tongue twister motivation.
b) a K-Pop story for them to practice their reading
c) an unscramble the sentences game to play in pairs.

Disappearing Dialogue

Lesson 6 unit 1:  Used the post-it/charades game to review "I'm going to... I want to..." from lesson 5 (I want to make cookies).  This can also be used as a speaking activity for lesson 5.  I'm going to explain to the Ss that they have to take turns posting the post-it on their foreheads (otherwise they can't really see each other).

Hey guys, here's my lesson plan for this chapter starting from section 2 and some ppts.



Catch the words - the first half is unscramble the words, the second half is catch the words.

Pass the phones - my spin on the usual "pass the ball" ppt. You'll need to make 2 phones (I picked red and blue). The students pass the phones around and when the music stops, they read the dialogues.

Pirates of the Classroom - I found this game on waygook and edited it for this chapter. The students try to earn points by drilling "Is ___ there? This is Group A speaking. Let's meet at ___!"

The Blazing Pens game previously posted on this board is missing the 10-sec countdown, which I think is the main fun of the game, so I used a different template to make one for this lesson.  ^^

Simple Sleeping Elephants game.

Teams of 4. (this works best but if you have to change it you can)

Each person is numbered 1-4. Each group has one white board, one marker, one eraser. (or you can give each student one marker each and they each have to write their own word. However, we don't play that way.  )

Start with their heads down and eyes closed/hidden.

Say #1 wake up. Number one looks at their word. Head back down.
#2 wake up. Number two looks at their word. Head back down.
ETC.
After #4 say every/all elephants wake up.
They then work together to figure out what the correct order is to make the correct sentence.
I like to rotate writers as well so everyone can have a chance to write since we only use one marker per team.
We also count punctuation and grammar and capitol letters, etc. So if they miss that no points.

Any more questions just ask me. I have posted this game in other book threads and as always this is not my idea nor template.

A ppt I made to introduce and then review language, then to allow them some individual practice.

Used in the first lesson so has a few slides on the intro and the game as well.

Great ppt! My students are a bit more advanced, so I have added some to this ppt for them. It has all the key vocabulary so students can write it down and then go through the slides and say everything at least once and then practice a bit.
