My students loved the bomb game!

We also watched and discussed these animations - the English at the end was beyond most of their levels, but they were able to get the main idea and relate it to the key expressions we covered.

Cryptogram puzzle and activity (adjust the number of cards to your class size, my biggest group is about 40 students)

Gangnam style: answer the question- basic questions from chapter 10
Pirates of the Caribbean: make a sentence using the words and pictures

Also, simple unscrambling worksheet using chapter vocab

A few cartoons I made using http://www.bitstripsforschools.com for period 5 page 148.
I'm going to put each cartoon on the screen and students will create dialog to go with it.

My coteacher and I are using the video/lyrics to Michael Jackson's "Heal the World" song.
I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes-- until I met a man with no feet.

I really like the chase the vocab game but I am a little confused on how to add new slides. Has anybody else added new slides? Any help would be great.

it's really hard to add new slides especially if you just copy & paste from what's originally there.  if you need to,you could find the template and work off that otherwise you'd have to copy & paste while keeping the formatting and then you'd have to go through the trouble of changing all the pictures which in order to do so you'd have to send the background to the very back in order to replace the pictures that are already there. i changed it but it took me forever but if someone knows a faster way please share

Exactly If I could find the template it would be great. I saw the instructions on the first slide but it just didn't make sense.

I think the user named Rufus made, does anybody know who that is?

My coteacher has begun a campaign heavily focused on writing activities, so here are the worksheets I've created for Story A and Story B.

The numbered lines within the stories are for the students to translate the sentence in Korean.  You can find the text in both languages on the CD if your coteacher is absent from class.

I've made them half sheets, so the students can glue them into their textbooks or English notebooks after they've been completed.  My coteacher often assigns homework to write each incorrect answer x amount of times in their notebook.

My students usually like the sleeping elephants game, give it a try. It is good for writing, reading and team work.

I made a snakes and ladders board game. The sentences for the pictures are on the second page. Feel free to change the pictures as you see fit.

G6 L10 P2 - Because We Should Save the Earth - Pics for the game.

This is a practice PPT I put together with the pictures from the book.

My students find it difficult to remember the sentences by heart, so:
1) Listen and repeat each sentence 2 times.
2) It the students turn to do it alone.  See if they can remember.
3) Do the opposite 'because' half of the dialog.  and the students will guess the  'You should' other half.
4) Go through each 'You should, why, becuase match' but have the students guess the answer after why

Here's a Worksheet for the lesson. For the first section, the students have to spell the correct word and write each word twice in the boxes. Then there are 4 sentences that students have to unscramble.

Hi!  I had a Save the Earth poster contest for the last two classes of this lesson

For the first session I used the attached worksheet as a brainstorming activity.  I explained that we would be making posters and showed them examples on the attached ppt.  Then I had the students tell me what "words" they could use on their posters and then what "sentences" they could use.  I had them write it all down and glue the paper in their books.

The next class I divided the class into 9 groups of 3 and gave them a poster paper and scratch paper.  I asked each group to decide what theme they would use on their posters: make a sketch and write down in English what you put on the poster.  Then I checked to make sure grammar was correct and let them start on their poster.  I made the posters due in the next week so that they could work on them in their homerooms.

The kids turned in really great and creative posters and now we have them up in our classroom :-)

This is a simple game that my students loved.  I created it on the fly so I think it would be better if you do the following.  I just used a piece of paper and two waste baskets.

1.  Bring in a bottle, can, and crumbled piece of paper.

2.  Have two trash cans, calling one " trash can" and the other "recycle."  Having one big and the other smaller is ideal.

3.  Tell one student "Put the...in the..."  or , "You should recycle the can."

4.  Finally, just have them literally throw them away moving the recycle/trash while students must stay in their seats, unless they come up to get a can, bottle, or paper.  For the boys I move the waste baskets as far away from them as possible.

Here is a fun pass the ball game. Someone else made the template, I just adapted it to this lesson. This game can be played with the ball thrown back and forth with all the students. For a more controlled atmosphere, you can also play it like "Hot Potato" where the students quickly pass it around to eachother.

Here are a couple of worksheets that can be used during the middle or towards the end of the lesson. They both went over well with my higher level, and with a little help, my lower level students as well.
