A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words Activity

So the kids are back from winter vacation for one week and then are off to spring vacation. ??? So for this week I was looking for something that would entertain them and still allow them to use their english skills. I got this idea from another post but attached PPT is my own. Feel free to change the pics or their order. All you need is scrap paper to give to the kids. Good Luck!

Is there anyway you could repost the ppt as the older Powerpoint file? My computer at school is so slow and crappy!

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing :)
I did something sort of similar with my high level (elementary) kids last year. I showed them Picasso's Maya-in-a-Sailor-Suit painting, but I didn't tell the kids anything. I simply asked them, "is it good?" I gave them a few minutes to decide if it's good/bad and why. (This was sort of a writing class). Most of them said it was bad and explained what was so bad about it, but then when I told them it was Picasso they all changed their minds, LOL. Anyway, it started up a good discussion and I think it went well!

I edited this a bit and changed the pictures. While I appreciate the intent in the OPs pictures, as far as games go my kids appreciate something a bit more light hearted. I put in some EXO, Sarang, etc and they had a blast with this game. Even the least active kids were shouting words.
As an extra incentive (and to avoid accusations bias on my part) I removed the 'most creative team' gets a point and just asked them to write down as many words as possible.
Simple, really easy game to explain and the kids get super into it.

I just did this activity a couple of days ago. I've done it for all age groups from 4th grade elementary to 3rd grade middle school. It works for all ages. Japanese inventions are fun to do. I just did this for, "How did you get there? I got there by _______."

Fold a blank piece of paper into fourths, and make sure that everybody has a partner. From there, make one person in each pair look at the back of the classroom, and make one person in each pair look at the T.V.
The student looking at the T.V. should describe to the person looking at the wall what he or she sees, and the student looking at the wall should draw it based on the student's description. I added a dialog to based on the lesson to give them some writing practice, but you don't have to do that.
If the pictures are too hard for your students, look for easier photos. I always use ridiculous looking photos. The kids get a big kick out of them.
