Chunjae Elementary School English - Grade 3,4 pics
« on: February 14, 2011, 01:57:52 pm »
Hi Everyone,
So we got our new textbooks for Grade 3 and 4.  Our school chose the Chunjae published books, so if your school has the same books this might be helpful.
I scanned all the pictures from the back of the book... so  that I can use them in Powerpoints or to make big flashcards.

Hope this helps at least some people.

They are uncropped... so of course some editing is left up to you.

I just finished cropping the pictures for both books.  They are attached.

My school also received new books, but I'm not sure if its like yours. My coteacher told me that its for the entire country from the Ministry of Education for their English Curriculum. However, he was unsure if an English Teacher's Guide existed, but he would look into it. I was wondering if your textbooks came with Teacher's Guide in English? Regardless of whether I have the same book as you or not, thank you for taking the time to share them with us! Greatly appreciated. :)

If you have the Chunjae books, you can get by without an English teacher's guide.  The chapter overview and such is printed in Korean only, but anything you need to explain to the students is printed in Korean AND English.  Look for all the little tabs labeled "TEE." Each TEE section translates the Korean passage just before it.

I can read the game directions!  Yay!

Also, here's a quick overview of Grade 3 chapters 1-8.  I didn't have time to do the rest (or even get started on Grade 4), unfortunately, and my vacation started forty minutes ago.

(One significant early difference between these and the old curriculum:  G3 learns "I'm Bobo" only.  They don't learn "My name is" until G4's lesson My Name Is Minho.  I also like that G4's chapter two only tries to teach 3 prepositions at once (in/on/under).  Less overload!)

Thanks teacher_del.  I didn't notice the TEE sections until you mentioned it and the Lesson teaching points page you made it helpful too.
I plan on working on some lessons over the Spring Vacation.  I will post them when I do.

Naijamujer...  THe teacher guides that I received are the ones that teacher_del talked about.
They are mostly in Korean but they have some English instructions and dialogues.
As well, the Chunjae's book are edited by Frances Sohn (which is on the cover).

Have a good spring vacation!
