Is anyone else using these materials?  Will be scanning images, preparing powerpoints, etc.  I would really like to exchange with other teachers. :)

I have these books too, but before getting to the book, I was thinking about doing these in my first class, unless the kids had already made name tags in their homeroom class. The classroom English I'm hoping will be esp helpful for lower levels, to be covered with Classroom rules and last (if necessary) name tags and possibly name bingo.

to anyone interested...

Hi all,

I will be using these books too but have not been given the teacher's guides for them- does anyone have the ability to post them online?

Thanks!

i'm also using these books.  the CD-Rom seems like the most painful one i've encountered yet.  do we have to play the activities through that classroom "Shiny Teacher" skit or can we bypass that and just access the videos and activities without the extra stuff?

i don't think i have a teachers guide yet, sorry.  just a "resource book".

I'm using YBM's books as well.  In order to run the actual CD (not the smiley K-girl Demo) you need to download Adobe Shockwave Player. For some reason my computer won't allow me to run this program--so... I suppose I'll spend my morning re-watching the Demo lesson while waiting for the school technician to fix the problem. Looks like the basic layout of the book is similar to the old National Ciriculum.  Some of the Lesson titles are identical.  This is good news.  I'm hoping to use/adapt a lot of the materials from the old books.  :)

Anyone know how to download the cd to the desktop?

Easy: Just put the CD (you have to do it for each one, i.e. CD #1, CD #2, etc...) and go to My Computer. Right click on the Icon for the disc (it will probably be "D:") and click copy "복 사". Then right click on your desktop and click paste "봍여갛기". Then it should load to your desktop. Good Luck! : )

I used the "Pass the Chicken" for period 2. In the book it's pass the ball (students had to get up). Same idea : Sudents who catch the chicken have to read from ppt:ex- " I am hungry." While the rest of students have to say : " How are you." :)

Here are a few PPTs for Lesson 1 (Great for both 3rd and 4th grade).  My co-teacher gave me the first.  The second I adapted from a "hidden slide" PPT based on the old text book.  They are designed to introduce/familarize students with the new YBM-Si-sa characters.  Great for both 3rd and 4th grade.

The first is just a simple Intro to the characters.
The second is a hidden slide, guess the character activity

I've also included a song, "Hello. How Are You?", with some cute dancing penguins (I think they're penguins ::)).  My students enjoyed the song and it uses the target language.
