I really like your powerpoint. The pics are awesome! Could you please just explain to me what the airplane game is? Much appreciated.

Oh yes. I set up a few boxes of varying distances and sizes from an arbitrary line, and assigned them points according to their difficulty.   

My class sizes typically have 40 students, so I gave every two students a piece of scrap paper where one person cuts it in half, and the other person gets to choose which side they want. They are to make their own paper airplanes.  They were divided into 4 teams and for each question two representatives are to raise their hand as fast as they can.

Basically each student that answers a question correctly can fly their plane into the boxes for points.

To be honest with you, the activity only worked with higher level classes. (The planes were distracting the students from learning) I modified it a little bit, to "PAPERBALL GAME," so now they are throwing 2 of the 4 paper balls into the boxes instead.

Hey guys, I've got this for an open class in two weeks but have to get prepared now.  I'm looking for a video under two minutes that shows a variety of volunteering opportunities.  If you know of anything, please let me know so I can put it into my prezi. 

Second, my co-teacher has shown me something fabulous for those of you writing all of your lesson plans.  Apparently on the textbook DVD are lesson plans for everything in the book including our speaking lessons as well as additional activities and worksheets.  So here's the lesson plan for lesson 6.  Hopefully some of you can use it.

I started teaching this lesson today and have combined some of the lessons above and made my own crossword to go with the terms from the lesson. Learning about the different names of the doctors is really useful and the co-teachers really loved it and found it useful too. I wrote the names of all the different specialists on the board when they were doing the crossword for spelling purposes and corrected it with the students before the bell rang.

Here's a Mario Blast game to go with it as well for when you have time...

And last but not least, the prezi to go with the whole thing.  It's very similar to the powerpoint but I had to make the powerpoint as a backup since prezi has been having some problems lately. Hope you all enjoy. Oh, and the video at the end will be added on 6-13. Cheers~!

Annoying Orange game for Lesson 6.

hi! here is my prezi for this lesson.
after i teach all of the dialogues we play a partner finding game. I have typed and cut up pieces of paper that have symptoms and doctor's advice. i put them in a basket and make the kids pick one. when i say GO they all have to find their partners. it's been pretty fun so far!!
