I don't know if all the new textbooks changed this lesson to "Good Morning!" but mine certainly did.

Here is an incredibly simple powerpoint for period one designed for the penniless, hagwonless children that frequent my school. I stole all the pictures form an earlier post, so thanks.

It uses some of those awesome template games that kind people have uploaded.

Hi Everyone
I am just going to  start posting my ppts and lesson plans on this thread for the 4th grade since I don't really know where else to put them

The following ppt is for Grade 4 Lesson 1 Period 1 Good monrning
It teaches good morning/ good afternoon/good evening/ good night. You can use this with any textbook.

Cheers
Maureen

PS feel free to add your own. those of you that are smart should just download and use it later in the year since we all teach basically the same thing.  Remember all of the students will take same national exam.

Thanks Maureen! I know, at least in my school, we confirmed our books late, so most teachers are scrambling to make materials, if they even have time for that! I'll probably use this for a review, maybe make up a game or two of my own. Thanks for taking of your own time. ^^

This is a Scramble Reading activity.  You can make this a writing activity if you want by assigning them whiteboards and having them raise it to indicate they are finished writing the answer.  You can turn this writing activity into a speed game by calling on the student who has his/her whiteboard up first.

Here's a simple slide that I made for the chapter! I incorporated a couple of simple sentences, relating to the times of the day.

A mario game that I made for class 4.  We decided not to do the make a clock activity that they have in the book and instead will use the class to review.  We plan to do the review activities in the book, an easy worksheet and then the game.  I will post the worksheet once it is completed.

I had trouble opening the file. I think you have to save it in Powerpoint 97-2003. Sorry.

Not sure why the Mario game won't open for you as it is in powerpoint 97-2003 but I will upload again here and hope it works for you this time.

Here's a little prezzi presentation that I made for my Grade 3s. There isn't a "evening". I usually just explain evening to my kids.

The prezzi is pretty easy to control. Just use the left and right arrow keys to toggle between the different times of day. There are only 4 stages:
1. Morning
2. Afternoon.
3. Night.
4. Morning.
To get to "afternoon" at stage 4, just press the right key twice.

Enjoy!

Hi guys,

Four corners activity:

Prep:

1. T to pre-print 4 A4 sized pieces of paper with the following vocabulary on it (text sized as large as possible)
    Page 1: morning bus pie
    Page 2: afternoon fine pizza
    Page 3: evening good book
    Page 4: night great bee
2. T to stick one peice of paper in each corner of the classroom
3. T to print and cut out the 12 words on small pieces of paper and place them in a hat / box / bag / your shoe whatever

In class:

1. T tells all Ss to choose a corner when they hear music playing
2. When the music stops, the teacher draws a word from the hat (box/bag/hollowed out taxidermied animal whatever) and reads it out
3. All Ss standing under the word that was read out lose and must sit down
4. Repeat, but let one of the seated Ss draw out and read the word. Repeat until there are only four Ss left
5. When down to the last four Ss, the rules change a little. Tell them to choose a corner each
6. The word that is drawn out is the winner (ie the other 3 lose)
