Shuffle Cup "Bomb Game"
« on: May 30, 2013, 01:41:29 PM »
Hi guys,

I made this game a while ago for a review game but I never posted it on here.

I cut it out of the review game and uploaded it onto my website.

It takes about 20 minutes or so and it really grabs the students attention. Used it as a review with 15 classes with 0 complaints.

I'm planning to finish up a League of Legends game soon that also uses Shuffle Cups (but a much cleaner template and fixes some of the mistakes I made) so I figured now is a good time to post this before I release a new one.

If you want to read more about what the game is:

http://www.myeslgames.com/shuffle-cups/

If you don't really care and just want to download it, here is a direct mirror to the pptx:

http://www.myeslgames.com/downloads/Template-Cup-Shuffle.pptx

I'll be uploading more templates and games to my website as I complete them. My website isn't a forum or anything, just a private place where I'll put successful lessons and games as time goes on. I currently have two big projects in planning and creation; one being a 4 group attack game, and the other being a 45 minute League of Legends review game (review 4 different topics for 10 to 15 minutes each with 4 different styles of League styled games).

So if you like this keep checking back, I'll probably update this thread or post a new one as I release more.

Comments and criticisms welcomed. I feel like this was my first successful game (made it 5 months ago) and have since learned a lot.

Have fun.

Edit:

Here is my current project if you're interested in giving input.

Some screenshots and a nice description of the game.

I have no idea why anyone has yet to respond to this, so I guess I will be the first. I played the shuffle cup game with my third graders as a review and they absolutely went bananas so my thanks for making my open class a breeze. I will definitely be checking in to see how you progress with other games.

Thank you so much, great, refreshing game, my students really enjoyed it ^^ I did find that changing the points, like making the treasure chest 100 points and the bomb being to lose all points really made them get into it.

How do you change the text boxes where the questions/answers go? On my computer the "Text Here" boxes show up as pictures that I can't edit :-( Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm not super tech savvy.

This game looks great!  Did anyone else have trouble with some of the links for questions on the PPT?  When I downloaded it, question 1 and 3 wouldn't disappear after I clicked on them, and they played the exact same option for the cups, if that makes sense.  I don't know if there were others with this problem, although I chose 18 randomly and that one worked fine.  If anyone has suggestions on how to fix that or what might be going on, that would be great!

try clicking only at the bottom of the cups.

Great game!  When I clicked on the question 1 to 3,  the number cards wouldn't disappear.  How can I fix that?  I can't wait to use this game^^;

Been using this game this week for a review for my students' midterms and they love it! They especially freak out when there are two bombs and only one good prize to choose from.

And for some reason they don't seem to care about winning, but they pick on one team and take away all their points (for hilarity, I even let them go into the negative...and usually the team that gets picked on somehow ends up winning lol)
