Last week of the semester game

Hi all, this is a game which i played this week. It worked really well, it is just a collection of odd things, but all the students found something they liked. You can change the rules but I played it like this:

Split the class into teams. Give each team a piece of paper

Round one: Hands-up, first person with the correct answer wins a point for their team

Round two: The teams write down the answers to the questions. Points for correct answers.

Round three: Hands-up. If they can show me how they did it they get 5 points.

Round four: Write down the answers on a piece of paper.

Round five: Hands-up first right answer wins a point.

Round six: Write down the answer.

Round seven: Hands-up first right answer wins a point.

So far i haven't got past round 6, but doesn't hurt. I have also included the answers to the brain teasers on round 3.

Hey, i love the game idea, it's simple but really effective. However, there are a lot of spelling mistakes in this ppt, a distracting amount. Just a heads up for anyone using this, be sure to look it over first.

That's part of the game.... the students get bonus points for finding the mistakes.  Were you too distracted to read that part? :rolleyes:

Thanks! Looks good!

Only thing is, I don't think the answers to the brain teaser .doc has all of them in it. I'm not smart enough to figure some of them out on my own :)

O.K.  I used this in my middle school classes and it did well.  If you have low levels, you may have to give them hints in certain sections.

Because of the amount of material, I created a broader quick answer sheet for all the guessing and short answer parts.  Also, I made two sheets of blanks for puzzle part, in case you wanted to have them work it in a group and let them bring it to you kind of situation.  It's not pretty and I really didn't get to clean it up because I am on my work computer.  i may do so later, or is some enterprising wants to do so, go for it.

Ran into a problem.  It wasn't the game, but my low level teacher.  She didn't understand the misspellings part and questioned my spelling ability (even though the kids understood).  So, I went back through and added extra animations so that the correct spelling comes up on a click. So simple that it needs less input from a teacher like mine. Enjoy!

P.S.  I was also informed that Koreans don't recognize the name Burma.  Make sure you emphasize that it is called Myanmar and Burma.  The Koreans only call it Myanmar.
