Thanks for the posts!  ;D  I noticed this chapter has commands, so I am going to be using Genki English and its Warmup songs and software.  The volume control thing Richard Graham does has worked well in my classes for classroom management.  A nice trick.

As for a game, I have used the Genki English Harry Potter game.  I need to read the rules for posting and linking sites, but I am sure you can find it easily.  I hope this game works well for people.  I will report back later if my students love it or not.  Take care!   8)

Here's a quick intro to the key Commands of this chapter using animated gifs. I also added in "jump" and "turn around" because I'm planning on using them with some "simon says" type activities later in the lesson.

There's also a link to a fun little song at the end Stand up sit down turn around.

I made this take on a telepathy game. The kids choose which of the four commands they think is on the next slide. If they are correct they get to stay in the game, if they are incorrect they are out. Depending on how it goes, I might bring kids back in the game to keep it going. Hope this helps!

This is a great game! I added a few more commands and made the game a bit shorter. My third graders are surprisingly bright. I also made an easy worksheet to go along with it. They draw a line to match the picture with the key expression, then fill in the blank letters to practice spelling. Hope it's useful :)

ADD: Here's another more involved worksheet to use at the end of the chapter.

A "guess the first letter game" for part 3, ABC Time M-S. I played this game for the last ABC time and it went over well. I pass out whiteboards, markers, and erasers and have the kids play in teams.

A Pumpkin ESL video for commands. This one even has "good" when the students do the command, so it's especially good for part 2 of the lesson.

This is my ppt for part 2 of this lesson.  It's starts with the daily warmup (feelings, date, weather) and then does a string of TPR (including a memory-ish game).  It also includes some explanation of the textbook game.

Here is a video from The Cosby Show that you can use to teach kids examples of imperatives. Run this video from 15:30 to 17:00 mins.

I'm also thinking the TPR memory-ish game looks good but I'm not entirely sure how it works..... Do they try and do the actions as a class before the black bar going across the screen finishes. Or do they do it as the pictures are shown? Do they call out the actions as they do it?
Anyone able to clarify? Thanks so much.
