Hey all,

A very basic Let's + sport active verb ppt and handout. Techincally the handout is from another book, but it works for this lesson.  Also, a sports matching and a catch the word game.

Plus, Here are some "Let's + action verb" songs.

from My Neighbor Totoro

A friend of mine used this song and it went over well. Considering the subject is sports I though it would be fitting. It's not focused on the key expressions, but it's a lot of fun.

Expressions ppt and a memory game. After teaching the students the expressions, play the memory game in groups. Have two students in a group stand up at a time, and choose a number. Have them make a conversation "e.g. #2: A: "Let's play basketball." B: "Sure, sounds good."  Then let them choose a second number. Award the points to the groups as they make the matches.

Does anyone have a completely file of the listening test at the end this lesson? Not the track by track mp3 but everything together in one file.

I wanted to make the reading section a little more fun, so I made this game. It's a little like pass the ball.

Directions:
PREP: I drew and wrote the sports on small papers (plus dodgeball because my students liked it). I put them in a ? Bag.
Students will pass the bag around the room while music plays.
I will stop the music and they freeze with the bag.
I show a slide for the whole class to read.
The student with the bag draws a card. If it’s the same sport, the student will read, okay, sounds good.  If it’s a different sport they pull from the bag, they read, Sorry, I can’t.
Start the music again and continue passing the bag.

This game is called Ground Conquer. It's great as a pair game, and it's ideal for speaking. Each team has their own half of the board, and they can use an eraser or some kind of marker to flick to the other side, landing on a square. they say the included dialogue and use a dry erase marker to X that square. if you land on a square that's already been x'ed, you lose your turn. first player whose side is Xed is the winner (or has the most X's depending on time).
