Post your lesson resources here for the new YBM book (blue with scarecrow).

And here's the PPTs for this lesson, taken off the CDROM.

Have them listen once without the video playing, then they can listen and try to fill in the blanks of the attached lyrics sheet, then finally listen and sing with the video playing.

This is our intro to this lesson.
Activity 1: Key words
Activity 2: "Today is Monday" Story (Youtube video is hyper-linked.)
Activity 3: Fly Swatter game (for listening practise)
Activity 4: Move Your Bum game. (This depends on time. - We will use the cards from page 197 in the textbook for this game.)

All instructions are on the PPT.
Enjoy.

Period 2 is bizzare.
Never in my life have  I followed a question regarding what day of the week it is with "Don't worry."

This is my plan for the secon period.
I am skipping look and listen in favor of the students learning the 7 days of the week song from They Might Be Giants.

I will only show the second video (Listen and Say) which has the dialog
"Are you ok?"
"No, I'm not. I can't stand up."
"Don't worry I can help you."
"Thank you."

I will then have the students practice the sentences in Play and Fun as well as the sentence "What's the matter?"

The students will then play the textbook game in pairs.

As a listening activity, play the song "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure.  Put the PPT up on the screen while playing the song.  Ss must listen for the days of the week and do an appropriate action.  Also, might want to have ur co-teach check my korean.  I did this last year with my students and they loved it.

I added a practice unscrambling section to the PPT from the CD, nothing major but I thought it was a nice addition.

Thanks, Renzo, for the Eric Carle link.

Here is a ppt with a couple of extra vocabulary words (why not learn today and yesterday with tomorrow?!) and a short activity at the end.

Thanks again to everyone who contributes.

Period 2 is bizzare.
Never in my life have  I followed a question regarding what day of the week it is with "Don't worry."

It's all about context.

"When is your test?"
"The 30th. Oh my god! What day is it?"
"Don't worry, It's still...." etc etc.

Context. ;)

Reading game for period 3. I have students line up around the class in one line, like a U shape. Students can read one, two or three words. If they read Kimchi (the picture) they are out and must sit down. Last student standing is the winner.

We did the Sleeping Elephants writing game for the last period.
The sentences I made are quite easy for my students, so I occasionally changed sentences as we played. My changed sentences are not in the attached version, though.
