Post your lesson resources here for the new YBM book (blue with scarecrow).
And here's the PPTs for this lesson, taken off the CDROM.

I don't have the book in front of me, but I'm guessing this is a very similar lesson from another book...

I changed the previous
chase the picture
.
i just put a sentence or word on the slide, the kids have to then watch the "answer picture" and tell me which number to choose.
there is also a
pass the dice game
and a
blinding reading
, as my co teacher calls it, basically, we read the sentences together, then words disappear bit by bit, leaving them to have to memorize or remember the hidden words.

Spongebob board game!
We don't have enough dice for the entire class, so I just draw scissors=1, rock=2 and paper=3 on the board and that is how they can move spaces.

I edited a Peppa Pig episode and added subtitles.
I ask the kids two questions:
1) What are they doing?
2) What do they want for Christmas?
Then they write a Christmas letter of their own. It's simple but fun, and they enjoy it.

The title and content of this chapter was weird/confusing for me. I struggled to pull together materials, so I made 1 game of my own, but the other ones were already posted and I just edited/simplified them for my lower level students~
Intro PPT:
Every period
I show this at the beginning of every lesson. The last slide also has a link to a music video that someone else shared! It's a "What Do You Want for Christmas" song. My students really like this song, and it's really easy to sing.
Pass the Ball/Dice Game:
1st or 2nd period
A basic pass the ball game. I have my students all stand up at their desks and pass the ball/dice to the music. If they can't correctly answer the question, they are out, and sit down. I have the kids pass a ball around and when the music stops, they have to answer the question. Someone else posted this, but I edited it to be simpler for my 4th graders because they are low level. I mainly used textbook vocab pictures, and a few Korean>English translation questions.
Snakes & Ladders Board Game:
2nd period
Someone else already shared this game, but I simplified the vocabularly and changed some of the images. I made it so they have to say all of the Korean phrases/vocabulary in English. My 4th graders are pretty low level, so I modified it. I also added the number of spaces to move if the kids do rock, paper, scissors (I don't have dice).
Shoot the Ball Game:
2nd, 3rd period, or Wrap Up
This is a good review game. I got the template off of waygook. It's mainly vocabularly and translating Korean phrases to English. There's also some spelling and unscrambling questions. The students play in teams, and after each question they get either 1,2,3 shots. Let them choose one student to come up, and try to shoot crumbled up paper into a garbage bin. Each successful shot=1 point.
*11.12-
I taught the snakes & ladders game
2nd period
, and followed it up with the Shoot the Ball game. My 4th graders had so much fun. The board game only took them about 10 minutes? And the shoot the ball game can be as short or long as you want. I recommend having 10 minutes+.
My kids went absolutely crazy about the shoot the ball game!!!! I highly recommend you play this game with your students if you have time~ They loved it. I had the students form teams, and when a question needed them to write something, I had 1 student from the team come up to the board and write it after discussing it with team mates.

1st Period Listening & Speaking (15 minutes)
1. I modified the the
Chase The Vocab
Game. (different pictures and phrases)
- My co wanted more repetitive phrases.
- Thanks for the Great post.
2. Ninja Game:
- Students draw 5 ninjas.
- I choose a random number. Student stands up.
- Class asks: What do you want for your birthday?
- Student chooses a block by making a sentence "I want _______" OR "I want _____ and ______".
-
Student with the most Ninjas left alive at the end, wins.
p.s
-I made an answer sheet for the Chase the Vocab so students can keep the target language.
-Print two Ninja boards per page and on the back print two answer sheets so each student gets half an A4 with ninja in the front and chase the vocab answer sheets on the back.

READING CLASS:
1. Activity Worksheet:
- Students match the words and pictures
- Students circle the picture that matches the dialogue
- Students write the appropriate word
-Students select which dialogue matches the picture.
2. Secret Picture:
-Students start at start.
- Students read the sentence and then draw a line to the appropriate picture.
- In the end, it draws a christmas tree.
PRINT SUGGESTIONS:
1. I print 2 pages on a sheet and double sided, so the end result is each student receiving an A5 paper with the activities on either side.
2. Print 4 pages per sheet of paper = each student receives an A5.
