I used the intro ppt. Vernorene made (THANKS) and modified it into a pass the ball game. It just covers the basic "Let's play..... " sentence structure though.

I did a telepathy game with my students where they had to choose the correct picture using the expressions "Let's play---", "Sure", and "Sorry, I can't."

During the whole game, I just made it more fun by telling them to guess what I'm thinking.

We did two game type things for this lesson so far.

First was a simple pass the ball pattern drill. I'd toss a ball to a student and I'd say "Let's play ____." and they had to reply "Sure, let's go" or "No, I can't" depending on if they liked the sport or not. Then they'd throw it back to me. Simple, but effective. The second round we switched, they named a sport and I'd reply.

For the game, we used the big card things that came with the book sets. The cards had expressions like "Let's play soccer" and "I like baseball." We'd play the telephone game, and the student at the end had to find the right card that matched the expression. Again, simple, but all the classes seemed to enjoy it.

A worksheet I made for 3차시 to practice the phonics letters we learned and review a few from last chapter. I always make something extra for the Literacy Time period because the book doesn't really require them to USE the letters they learn in any activity. My students learn much better when they get to apply what they have learned.

I will read the words for them for each picture, so really as long as the kids can listen to the first letter sound and count the letters in the word they shouldn't have trouble.

I edited an mp3 instrumental version of the "Let's play soccer" song. It's doubled, so kids have to choose 4 sports, I write them up and they sing along to the track with their chosen sports with "OK / sorry I can't".

Multiple sport flash cards to play the game in period 2, or any other game you'd like to come up with. I'm planning on playing "make a team" - they have to take their cards around and find the other members of their "team" (there are 5 baseball, soccer, tennis, and badminton cards and 4 basketball cards.)
