I made this basic scattergories presentation to use with my middle school students. It was pretty successful, and because I had the students think of things individually (as opposed to teams), it didn't get too loud or rowdy :)
The rules are a bit difficult to explain, I know, but once I showed them the example slide, they all got it!

I use it some when that class shows up you have nothing scheduled for, etc.  Usually works pretty well.  OP, I really like the topics you use - I'll steal some.

Here's the version I use.  It basically just adds the "random" letter generator and I have a handout for the categories.
Oh, and there is a typo in the ppt I haven't fixed.  There is a Q where W should be.

I also included a 3 minute timer on the topic screens (just click the 'start' button to start the countdown), and you can click on the topics when you're checking their answers to reveal different amounts of points.

Instead of the 20-sided letter die, they just choose a number and then it will reveal the letter they have to use. They then choose a colour to get to the topics/timer.
