I'm ending my contract soon, so I thought I'd go ahead and post up the materials I've made/been using for this book. Thank you to everyone whose material I used/adapted. I don't have the time to sort through everything I took/modified from other posters, so if some material is from you, thank you and sorry for reposting. =]

Lesson 5-1
New Words and Expressions. Ppt in English and Korean. Worksheet to go along with it.
Hot Seat.

Lesson 5-2
'How many' Drawing game. Pair work. Students ask each other "How many ____?" and draw that number of whatever animal on their farm. Big and small version.

Lesson 5-3
Scavenger Hunt. Each group gets one worksheet. Print/cut out the cards and hide them around the room. Students have to find all the cards and write down how many of each. First team to do so correctly wins. This is very prep heavy and will have students acting crazy, so be aware. It is very fun though!

Lesson 5-4
Showtime Script.

I have a really simple set of slides for this. Reviewing the animals and counting up to five. You can make it a speed game or just have the students practice counting how many animals they see.

Basic circle race game to practice listening/reading. Say a sentence and have students race to circle the correct one. Best used in partners! Also some pictures in there for easy ones/low level students

Here is a homework assignment I gave to my students to go along with this chapter. It focuses on reading skills. Students must circle the correct number of animals as described in the sentence.

EDIT: Added a second homework assignment. This focuses on reading the key questions and filling in blanks.

Pirate Battles
« Reply #66 on: May 30, 2016, 09:19:18 am »
We had a filler lesson, perfect for a game like Pirates.

It's a game I found on Waygook and remade. I might have posted it somewhere before, but this one has slight changes. There is a bug with the animation (Maybe a Win10 issue?) and I had to remove my beloved "Hip on the Horizon" slide :(

Also, I added a rule that says when everyone in a team had a fight, then other teams are not allowed to pick them. This prevents one team from being constantly picked for battle while other teams just look on, unable to participate.

Before playing the game, be sure to drill the question, then use the numbers to have the students answer your questions for example:
With a "5" on screen, ask "How many dogs?"

3.5.4 - Showtime
« Reply #67 on: May 31, 2016, 03:26:54 pm »
1. Guess how many: (5 minutes)
- updated GIFS
- students guess how many
-click on the number
-the secret box is behind the correct number that lets students watch a gif.

2. Showtime practice - find the star:
-Modified from earlier post
- I needed to keep my kids focuses
-behind some of the answers it will show a star which equals 1 stamp.

3. Roleplay script
- created an easy format script with the character's faces for when they speak

I used some pictures from another uploaders PPT so thank you to that creator.
I know it is a bit late but I hope it helps someone at some point.

Here's a good video for period 3 of this lesson. You can use it to introduce reading to the students. It contains nearly all the words the students have to read in this part of the book.

For the first part of this lesson: Here is a song that goes over numbers that the kids really liked and also the very first ever powerpoint game that I created 8) (it took me forever to figure how to do it). Basically it is an o/x game. Students will count how many animals quickly move across the screen and I will say an amount and they either make and 'o' or 'x' with their arms. In hindsight, I would make it more difficult for them by making it individual rather than a team game. But it is the  kind of game that allows you to change up the format. So please use, because it took me a long time ahaha :P

Here is an improved version I made this year. My ppt skills have definitely gotten better.

A simple quick count activity, meant to practise:
1- The key question and answer structure.
2- Animal names.
3- Visual aptitude (perception & visual discrimination abilities - distinguishing colours, shapes, etc.)
Each picture has a "ready" screen, timed viewing, followed by a question prompt.
Click to move to the answer slide and once more for the structured answer.
