The format is not mine, the questions are all mine. Lesson 7 review game. For advanced students, the students can write the answers on white boards like in the actual Golden Bell game show. Or you could play it with teams calling out the answers Jeopardy style.

Two simple games that worked great with the sixth grade, so I'll try 'em with the fourth grade.

1. Two students stand back to back. Each student needs to choose a number between 0-6 and hold that many fingers up. Teacher says “1, 2, 3”, and the two students turn around and add the two numbers together. The first student to say the time their combined fingers shows using "It's ____ o'clock." wins. Loser sits down and game continues until one student is left as the winner. If you have a lot of time, you can make it so the winner has to get through all of the other students in the class (if you have a small class size).

2. Tape squares with times to students' backs. Students must get in numerical order without any talking.

Made my own version of an introductory ppt for this chapter, and then subbed in some slides from another intro ppt that my coteacher had.

There is Korean translation for the major concepts, spelling and grammar checked by my co.

I'll use word cards provided with the textbook to introduce new vocab.

For the song, give students a number and they must stand up when they hear their number. They love it especially when it goes fast at the end.

Guessing game: We have a big clock we will use in the classroom. First, I'll set the time secretly and the students have to guess what time is it. I'll say higher or lower until someone gets it right. Then, that student can come to the front and set the time. He will ask "What time is it?" and pick a student to guess.

We also have small clocks I'll give to each group so they can play with their groups to give more students a chance to speak.

My ppt for period 3. Line bingo focusing on reading and writing. Each student will get a strip of paper and will choose their own words to write down. Go around the room reading sentences and rip off a strip when a sentence on the end of the strip is said. Keep going until all strips are gone.

Around the World Game. Can also be used as speaking practice for dialog and vocabulary. Hope this helps!

NOTE: I've uploaded the original version (Keynote) and an exported version for Powerpoint (pptx.). PLEASE check before using to make sure the exported version has the correct fonts and triggers. This can vary based on whatever version of powerpoint you're using along with the TV/Computer settings. Enjoy!

I just had my open class so I am attaching the game I used - Pass the Clock. I played it just like you would pass the ball but I made 6 groups. There were 4-5 students in each group since I have 26 or 27 students in a class. Each group received a mini clock. When the music played students passed the clock. When the music stopped the student with the clock stands up and sets the time. Then each group gets a turn to ask and answer the questions. Teacher says "Team 1" then the students in team 1 who are seated ask "What time is it?" The student with the clock answers "It's ____ o'clock." Then team 2-6 ask and answer the question. Then the teacher shows them the time on the screen. I used a ppt posted on here before for the time. Thanks to the original poster. If their time is the same as the clock on the screen they get the points. The teacher told the students not to guess the same time that was on the screen before so they had to remember the times already shown before. The slides with the star means that it is a special reward like candy, a stamp or lollipop but in order for students to claim it they had to answer an additional question "It's time for _____." (8 o'clock - school, 9 o'clock - class, 12 o'clock - lunch, 10 o'clock - bed) Also attaching the sound file. Make sure it is in the same folder when you play the game.

Here's a song and video I made for teaching about time and routines.  It's a bit fast but I've still had success with it for 4th grade and up. The higher level students can mostly keep up while the lower levels are still able to participate at least on the Chorus.

I'm attaching a slide show of the lyrics and a printout, too. Hope it helps!
