Someone posted this activity on a similar textbook topic and I redesigned it so there are some different items and you can chop the paper in half to save on paper.
Students must fill out their list of items they can purchase on their budget of $50 and then make a dialog with their friends and write down their shopping list too.
Enjoy!

We're using an extra class period to have a "market day", where students create a fake inventory of items and try to sell them to each other. The class is divided into 6 teams. Each team is a different store. Pet Shop, Bakery, Candy Shop, etc. They spend about 10 minutes labeling their price tags with pictures and writing a price. Ex. The Bakery might sell muffins $3, cookies $2, bread $4, etc. Now, each team will chose one person to be their "seller". The seller will stay at the store and welcome other shoppers to buy their merchandise. Using the money found in the back of their books... each student (minus the sellers) will have a chance to walk around the classroom and buy items from their favorite stores.
The PPT explains it. The last page of the PPT is printable price tags.

Made a "Find the Star" game (not my template). Students will be in teams and each team will get a chance to choose one square to look under. The dialog should go something like this:
Teacher: "What do you want?"
Team: "I want the pencil case."
Teacher: "How much is it?"
Team: "It's seven dollars."
Team who finds the most stars wins!
Enjoy^^

I wrote a simple, fun restaurant song to teach 'Can I please have a/some ____' but it also drills 'how much is it?' - maybe some teachers will find it helpful.

Here's a simple PPT I made to explain how to do 'Talk Together' and 'Speak and Play' from the textbook.

Used the vocab and some dialog from the book along with some clipart to put together a quiz for this chapter.

Evolution Game
Students are shown a PPT slide with a pyramid. Students play a game in which they move up the pyramid by using the key sentences and playing rock-paper-scissors. For each level of the pyramid there is a key sentence with an accompanying motion. All students start at the bottom, miming the key sentence. Students find a partner to say the key sentence to. The two students then play rock-paper-scissors. The winner may upgrade to the next level. The loser starts at the bottom again. If a student reaches the top, he/she may say the key sentence to T. If he/she beats T at rock-paper-scissors, he/she is a winner and may sit down.
Go Fish
Up/Down Game
There is a bag with numbers, 1-60. One student draws a number. Students guess the number. The student indicates with a thumbs up or a thumbs down, if SS guessed too high or too low.

We are starting the lesson today and I am using this as a warm up, it's more difficult than the textbook but you could change it to simpler money amounts but my kids will be fine.

Play Market activity. Basically, the kids get into teams and set prices for the items sold at their stores. Then they take turns going shopping and filling out their shopping lists using the dialogue.
Requires a fair bit of prep work (print and setup), but it fills a full class and incorporates a range of skills. Plus, it's really fun! You may need to simplify some of the materials depending on your students' level.
Included:
- Explanation PPT
- Store signs (PDF and .hwp)
- Price Lists (PDF and .hwp)
- Image Cards - i.e. items for sale
- Shopping Lists with Dialogue (PDF and .hwp)
Not Included:
- Paper money (I didn't use it, so I don't know if there's enough, but note that there is pop-out money in the back of their textbooks, on page 47 of their play materials.)
The image cards and price lists my co-teacher found online, so I can't take credit for those. I did catch some spelling errors in them, though, so just double check before printing.
Have fun!!

Here are two memory games to practice the vocabulary from the unit: pencil case, doll, robot, cap, ice-cream etc. The students must match the words to the pictures.
Click on the card to remove it and click on the cross to replace it.
The two games have the same vocabulary but the cards are mixed differently.

I HAVE DELETED THIS LESSON AS IT IS BEING MONIIZED AGAINST THE CONTENT CREATOR'S WISHES.
I very much welcome an open source system and am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the sites decision to charge for content. I uploaded content with the understanding that it would be used freely by other teachers and do not agree with it being monetized without my consent. Due to this change I have felt it best to remove my work.
Thank you for all those who have shared in the past and I hope the site will retract its new policy and return to an open community-led system.

I'm just posting the last slide for the Show Time PowerPoint, with the entire script on 1 page.
There are pictures of characters instead of the characters names to make it simpler.
Download it and add it to the last slide of your already downloaded ShowTime.

This works for lesson 13 for both grades 4 and 5. My kids like coming to my room between classes to sing this.
Here's an updated recording of the "May I help you?" song. (I link to the original version in my video description.) The lyrics are the same as the original, but I wanted to redo the music. Also, instead of a noraebang setup, i turned it into a role play situation.

Here's a video lesson that I use in my classes when teaching how much. It let's students know the different ways to form the question. If you have any success or difficulties with presentation please share. I am open to suggestions on how to improve it.
