I was just informed that I need to have speaking tests prepared in the next 2 days.  I need them for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade as well as levels A-C.   I'm new to making these tests and can't get any input from my co-teacher.  All I've been told is that they have to be from the book (Units 6-10).   So far I'm trying to pull some ideas from the Listen and Talk sections.  Anyone have any input or suggestions???

Where did you get this book from? Also, is it possible for someone to upload a cover page of the text book.

I know it may be a strange request but my boss would like to see it.

I would also love to hear what recommendations people have for the CDs that come with the books. I have two sets of CDs for each grade level (1-3), one set is a collection of CDs in jewel cases, the others are in a PC/DVD style box (but are marked CD-Rom, they aren't DVDs as far as I know).

I have a Mac and, obviously, they won't run because they were intended for Windows. However, it seems to just be a collection of flash and PDF files, which should theoretically be platform independent. I've heard they can simply be copied, but so far, dragging/dropping/copying the pdfs doesn't work. Even trying to click a file on the CD (like, say, "Lesson1.pdf"), and open it results in an error saying the file doesn't exist or has been moved (though it hasn't, it's still on the CD).

Just in case someone thinks I'm being difficult (by trying to get the lessons on my Mac): running the CDs on my school laptop doesn't seem to want to work either. None will auto-run, and clicking the program file to start it usually results in waiting...with nothing happening. In one case, the CD did start, and had a bunch of menus for the different lessons... Except that when you actually clicked on a lesson to view that page in the book, the PDF pages wouldn't load, and behaved as if the actual PDF pages did not exist anywhere on the CD. The CDs were all shrink-wrapped, so it's doubtful that the CDs were damaged or erased.

Any bright ideas are welcome. I'd love to be able to look over these materials without having to haul the books home. And I assume these CDs are necessary for the listening portions that I'm supposed to teach, because nowhere in my books does it actually have the dialogue they're supposed to listen to (except for the dialogues in the activity book).

It comes with a useless CD-rom (in a CD case) that just has audiotracks . It also comes with a set of CDs in a larger DVD style case that has a page by page reproduction of each page of the textbook as well as audioclips and activities and stuff.

Thank you for putting this together! I'm going to start uploading some of my lessons to this as soon as I've gotten ahead. At the moment I'm still using these and changing them slightly or doing something completely different!  :D

You can take a screen shot with the Prt Sc button at the top of your keyboard. Then go into powerpoint and use the size editing tool... in Korean it is 크기 및위치 (Z) and adjust the sides to what you need. If you have 2007 or 2010 there is another resize tool on the top tool bar.

One way to keep students engaged is to change the format of the class.  If you move from large group to smaller groups or pairs throughout the class that helps.  Also many shorter activities tend to keep their attention.  Contests are also HUGE in Korea.  So even something like, who can finish the worksheet the fastest will keep their attention. 

I've had problems in the past with maintaining attention and besides videos and games, I was told to try these things.  Maybe even acting things out would be good... I'm horrible with doing TPR things myself but I try... =]

Oh and do the listening part yourself with different voices maybe, rather than the CD.  I hate using CDs for those things... =[
