Simple intro PPT along with a worksheet that's meant to be filled out alongside the PPT

The "Days of the Week" song is sang in the tune of the Addam's Family theme song. ^^
Happiness is a choice.

Things for this chapter:

Word docs of the Korean and English words. Printed, laminated and used a lot for this chapter.

(1) Listening: ppt including comprehension questions for the video

(2) Speaking: ppt including comprehension qs for the video again plus explanation of the game snapshots so you can explain in English

(3) Reading and Writing: Spongebob-themed slides to make Look and Read B slightly more fun.
Game instructions: 1. Every student gets seven pieces of paper and has to write the days of the week on each piece. Students in groups of four, mix the words together. Take one word. If you don’t already have it, read “It’s ___day. I have a ____” as according to the table made last lesson. Then you can keep it. If you do already have it, put it back to the bottom. Collect cards until one student has 7: WINNER!

(4) Phonics and Review:
Phonics - TH. SWITCHED WITH LESSON 12. Practise making the two sounds. One has the tongue relaxed against the bottom teeth "Thursday"; one has the tongue jump off the teeth "that". I made up some tongue twisters they can practise. Read slowly together, then time to practise then volunteer/selected students can say them out loud.
Speedy Pens Game -
Label student pairs as letters. It’s ok to have a three but they need to sit very close together. Each S in a team has a pen: so each pair has one blue pen and one black pen. They can write one letter each on the board. They will see the Korean for a word pop up on the screen. They have to write the English word as quickly as possible, one letter each. They get points for it being correct and points for the fastest. These points are recorded on the board.

Here is a Sleeping Elephants game that I edited for the topic. Credits to the original creator of the game!

Review Lesson 9 and 10.

Super Mario Bros. Classroom Blast Game. Thanks to the designer, Jennifer Yong.

Enjoy!

thanks for this. i edited it to include only things from the actual textbook chapter. this person posted a bunch of stuff in this game that isn't in the chapter.

i also edited some of the answers so that they fit the way the textbook teaches them. i particular, instead of "What day is it today" "today is wednesday" etc. i changed it to "it's wednesday".

i mean really guys you can't do stuff like that. especially with young children. stick to the basic structure they've been taught otherwise you'll just confuse them.

Flick reading speaking game - period 3

we played in however many groups - i had tables of 5 go FFA - once you flick, you make a sentence that corresponds to the word. i.e. you land on "sunday" ---> other students ask what day it is . then color in the box. different boxes have different point values. add up your colored boxes in the end. -

PD 2
I used s simple memory game. Use the cards from p.199. I had groups of five but you can have your kids arrange their cards depending on the groups. We played for a short while , max 10 mins.

Also that seven days of the week song (linked earlier) is bomb. i had them listen, taught them words like proud, then sing along then singing competition without the song. It was fun. Some groups are shy so I sang with them.

PD3
Collectively stealing from other waygookiens. Some are on this thread , others obviously on others.

PD3 First review. I edited SeanKruger's practice PPT to fit my needs. Then we had a pepero telepathy game, and a duel game. I jacked from this...another thread? I made sure to review the reading the cards before starting the duel game. Some students get so flustered if they don't practice beforehand.

Period 3 - Mission Impossible Dictation

Print out the word doc. There are 2 pages. The first page is person 1 and 2. The second page is person 3 and 4. I made it so that 1 is the easiest and 4 is the hardest.
Hang these documents on the walls of your room. Follow instructions on ppt. Fun game. not mine, just changed it from a different lesson.

Lesson 10-3

I made a disappearing words game as a motivation and there is also a fill in the blanks lyrics worksheet for the Days of the Week song (Adams family). At the end we played Sleeping Dragons.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIvQOab00OQ

My students really loved this days of the week song. However they kept saying 돼지 고기 dwaejigogi (pork) instead of days of the week which was actually the funniest thing ever.

battleship worksheet - use for after school 4th grade kids. trying to do this with a class of 25 while feasible, is difficult.

Here are the games I made (from borrowed templates) for this section.

I made one version of the Gru's Factory game WITHOUT the fart noise because my kids kept losing their minds when it went off (sorry original poster).

For 4th period, I did a Halloween themed board game. In the PPT, you'll find an October calendar that you can use to review days of the week (edit for the new calendar year. The current slide is for 2017).

There are 3 slides that show a schedule for the class to practice "Today is Monday. I have a violin lesson" etc.

Enjoy!

So I used Jaysoon17's template for battleship (amazing template) to fit my class. It wasn't really used as much as I wanted it to be for the explanation because my co-teacher is really good at explaining information. Anyway, hope someone finds it useful.
