Hey guys! Another lesson here, this time about "western music" (if there is such a thing). I just taught the kids different genres and try to have them get a feel for what kinds of music there are in North America. Forgive me for some of the examples I chose for each genre; by noooo means do they represent that particular style of music, it's just to give the students a taste of the general groove
I included a liiiiittle bit of Korean music in there so they understand which k-pop singers are which genre, but as it's more about Western music, I tried to stay away from the Kpop.
The second part of the lesson is more about learning specific english songs. Unfortunately, since these kids are middle schoolers, my hand was forced and I was compelled to teach them the indescribable horrors of Justin Bieber's
Baby (oh god no...). Yes, I know, but the kids like it... ...maybe a bit TOO much (they kept singing it over and over even after the class was finished and the song was stuck in my head for the next 10-12 hours. Curses!). I also used some helpful resources from another thread about the Group of 20's song
Let's Go that they sung for the Korea G20 thing last year, you can search for it on waygook, but for convience's sake, I've included it here as well (I'm not taking credit for it, it's just awesome)
Aaand finally, here's a wordsearch to keep them busy if that doesn't' fill up the time, cuz frankly, wordsearch = timekiller awesome x 5000.
Enjoy! :D
