I think this is the first time I've actually liked a game in the book.  Here's my intro powerpoint with the new vocab and a short listen and repeat section.  I also have a powerpoint with matching flashcards for the teacher to use for the Listen and Play game.  I printed out two slides per page and then laminated them so I could use them again.

Have a good day!

Here is an intro ppt, board game, and exercise for sounds and letters. For sounds and letters teacher makes sound of missing letter and students guess whether "M" or "N". Teacher then shows second slide and says the letter, sound of the letter, and the full word.

Here's a PPT and a Pokemon Bomb Game I used last year.
I adapted it for this textbook's chapter.

Enjoy!

Here's a Frozen bomb game that the class went crazy for. Not my template, just adapted for this chapter. Enjoy

Does anyone have the Typhoon Game? It's an old bomb game that I had downloaded on the shared drive that got destroyed like 4-5 years ago. Also the USB drive I had it on is no longer working. :(    If anyone knows what I'm talking about and has it, please post. Thanks!

Bingo game for period 1. Print out a board for each student and have them draw the listed pictures, one of each weather picture for each day. Then when they're all set call out a day and weather, they cross it off on their paper.

Thanks to the original creator of this PPT template!

Here's a writing game. Play in teams with mini whiteboards, one player from a team come to the front whiteboard, or print the grid for them to write individually.

Here's an instructional ppt for Heads Up Seven Up (six up, in this case) and cards you can print. Two of my classes happen to have exactly 24 students so we split the class and had two games going at once. This way, every student could participate each round.

Ppts for this lesson:

2) Speaking
Review with gifs; Remember-the-dialogue slides to go with the video; Song remember-the-word; Talk! Talk! explanation; and GAME: CHARADES! - They loved this game!

1. Demonstrate the activity through asking two students to come and help the teachers. RPS: winner is card-chooser (S1), second is guesser (S2), 3rd and 4th place act.
3. S1 is given the cards from last week (page 181) and stands behind S2. Explain S1 chooses one card and holds it up above S2's head, S2 must guess the card from S3&4 acting (role-play), no speaking.
4. S2-4 say “How’s the weather?”, S1 shows a card and S3&4 act, when S1 is correct say “Let’s go outside”.
5. Then swap roles: rotate round 1 place.
6. Play!

The game can also be down with the whole class as a Wrap-up. You can play the game with teams competing across the classroom but they were just as happy to do it for fun with no point-scoring.

3) Reading and Writing
Musical Chairs/Pass The Ball ppt
(sorry if this has already been posted, another teacher sent this to me and I'm not sure if it's her work or somebody else's). They really enjoy Musical Chairs!

4) Review
Back-to-back Telepathy Game explained in ppt. Cards page 179. Students work in groups of 4: 2 teams (in case of weird numbers: groups of 6 with 3 teams are fine, and one of the teachers may join a group to create an even number). In a round, one team stands up back-to-back. Each team member holds their cards, chooses one and puts it against their chest ready. The seated team says “How’s the weather?” Both standing team members raise their cards, then they both read them. If the cards are the same, then the team says “Let’s go outside!” and wins a point. If they don’t match, then no points are scored. The teams take it in turns to play.

edited the bounce back game so it contains only expressions/vocab from this chapter.

also added a slide - slide 2 - that you can leave up on the screen for students with the vocab.

I had to combine all periods to one. This is my answer. It is a 40 minute long PPT with a variety of different min games. The kids had the "cards" in front of them for the majority of the time, even throughout the telepathy game. The cards are just a screenshot of the book pictures. Hope it helps and goodluck.
