The Most Dangerous and Stressful Jobs - Guessing Game
« on: September 17, 2014, 02:47:41 pm »
This game was inspired by the book, Games for Vocabulary Practice.

In this game, students are shown 24 jobs that could be dangerous, stressful, both, or neither. Break the students up into groups and have them decide which is which.

To make it easier, tell the students that there are only nine jobs in the most dangerous category, nine jobs in the most stressful category, and seven in the neither category. Also tell the students that there is only one job in the both category.

And finally...

Some important Notes:
1. Click the circle once to start the 10-minute timer.
2. Write the vocabulary on the board or have the students write the vocabulary on sheets of paper so that they can easily access the words when deciding on which job goes where.

The answers are apparently factual, although I am unable to cite any sources aside from the Vocabulary Practice book I have already mentioned.

Hope this helps!

I totally forgot to include ppt slides that define "dangerous," and "stressful."  :-[

Oh well, maybe it's not needed if you have high-level students.

Just giving y'all a heads-up!
