Different Hair Styles
« on: April 11, 2011, 03:37:46 pm »
This lesson's all about different hair styles. Lesson is pretty basic. SS identify hair styles through the PPT. Then play a review game. Then learn to talk about their favorite hair style. The lesson is leveled, so if you get to it, you can also do the video (information gap). I changed around some of the words to make it easier for the SS, but I think it confused them in the end, feel free to change and update  ;D

i suggest modifying your hair styles on occasion, purely because it amuses the students. I'm a male teacher at an all-boys school, and it is still possible to do. Use wax, or sweep it all back when it is wet in the morning. The kids love it.

Thanks a lot! I was trying to think of ways to make a Hair Styling lesson! This really helped.

Sorry guys, I don't get on here too often  :-[

I teach at an all girls high school so the subject content was catered to them. I would probably change some the hair styles around to suit those of you who teach at an all boy's or co-ed school.

FYI I teach at a very low level school, so even the video comprehension part was hard for my highest level students. Another idea to add on to this lesson would be to have the students design their own hair style (in small groups or pairs), give it a name and provide a short description of it. This of course would be for higher level students.

Hope this helps  ;)

Chasuk, you have the right idea there!  :D

I say throw in some crazy hair styles like: a mohawk, dread locks, crew cut (army style hair cut for Koreans), afro etc.
