I have a few lessons to fill after the midterms and wanted to teach the kids something unique about England, so thought I'd try and stick together a Cockney lesson.

I edited the youtube video (any Brits may notice the odd slang left if without translation - think i'll get away with it).

Probably be good for half a lesson. Appreciate any comments, suggestions.

The powerpoint uses the Keep Calm font, which I've attached - probably look better if you install that.

First time uploading a ppt with videos and sound - I assume if you download the lot and stick them in the same folder it'll run smoothly.

Word of caution - if for some reason you CAN'T get the video to run, I would vet any cockney videos on youtube before showing them to the class, as some of them are a little unsavoury.

I ran this yesterday with second and third graders and my conclusion is that it's probably higher level than i initially thought. (Third managed with it, somewhat, but second struggled).

I'm gonna revise it, reduce the number of questions and add a picture round of famous cockneys when I get a moment (this will probably be a liberal interpretation of the actual definition of cockney, as my students didn't seem to know that many when I asked - Ron Weasley, 베컴, and Alfred from Batman being likely candidates).
