Final exams are coming up soon and I have finished the student's grades, so I decided to do something fun! My friend sent me a ppt he made for this game with his students. I changed the ppt and added pictures and riddles not just questions. I teach average of 34 students per class. At first I had 7 groups of 4/5 students but later arranged the desks to make 3 groups. Quickly explain how snakes and ladders work (roll the die and land on a number...if its the bottom of the ladder you go up, if it's the top of the snake you go down). I gave each group a small whiteboard and marker. I put up a question/riddle on the screen and gave the count down to hold their boards. The team(s) that got the answer right, got to roll a die and move their game piece. The game goes fast, so I made the top row of select numbers worth points. They then would just start at 1 again after reaching 36. Adjust according to your own preference and whatever works for your students. These are just random questions, not review from what I've taught. Its great though for students to practice using prior knowledge attained elsewhere in English. Some are just random and fun facts I found online! Enjoy!
P.S. for the board game you can either print off individual sheets for each group or if you are able to, get a big poster size printed for you. My co-teacher took my game to the Art class and got it printed on big paper. We used magnets on the board as game pieces.
