Does anyone have any materials for this lesson?
I've created a Spongebob Bomb Game, Kudos to Kyle for the Template. And I've adapted this PPT that I found elsewhere on waygook.. It goes over the key phrase "It's important to".
I've also attached the What Does The Fox Say Bomb Game Template. Kudos to the creator. Feel free to make your own questions or copy/paste mine. This game probably goes better with the animal theme of Lesson 8.

I haven't taught this yet, but I will be next week. It covers just the first part of the speaking lesson about announcements. The worksheet is super simple, but my class level is very low. Feel free to adjust it anyway you want.

Thanks casttowers for uploading your powerpoint. I changed your speed game into a white board game, because it's better for my somewhat sleepy students. I've made activities for pages 161-166. Hope it's helpful.

I covered this one in two classes.
Warmup are the dingbat type pictures - cross them out depending on how many you use
Part A - Introduce key expressions and do the crossword worksheet. Then we went over the 'Make sure you...' grammar part, and finished listening on page 160. The coin flick game takes a bit of prep but it always goes down well - glue together the boards, and students flick a 100won coin on their turn, and speak depending on the picture (also used this to review some stuff from the previous chapter).
Part B - review, cover the 'It's important to...' part, and finish the listening. I then gave them a dialog worksheet to be done in pairs - very open-ended but using the key expressions. Then we played jenga (great for all kinds of activities if you have a couple of sets at your school). Students take out a block, pick up and read a card, and give appropriate advice using 'Make sure you' or 'It's important to'. The blocks are numbered, and depending on whether they draw an odd or even number I have them use a different key expression.

I love your worksheets SimonV!! Keep posting them! I've attached a worksheet for the song "That's Important to Me" by Joey and Rory. It's suppose to be a vocabulary building worksheet. I'm going to use it for my last class for this lesson. You can also show them the music video:

HELLO! Like, SimonV I also split my lesson into two classes.
We start Day 1 by
-using the up-close images that SimonV posted in another lesson for another grade (thanks for that
).
-I then go into Lesson 8, explain what a Hearing Ear Dog is and a couple other service dogs.
- I then introduce the key phrases.
-From there I explain to them what an announcement is and how to make one. 1st, get their attention with "May I have your attention, please." I also use the alternate phrases that you can find in the teacher textbook. 2nd, tell them what you want to say with "Make sure you dont..." and the other alternate phrases from the teacher textbook.
-Then, I gave 4 examples of those key phrases and alternate phrases in real-life(ish) situations
-From there I did one page of listen and the speak page.
-Lastly, I did a worksheet. I think I took part of it from kjhamilt if I remember correctly.
I did this the day after midterms so considering that... the class went okay. Not to mention my kids are super crazy difficult... BUT THEY LISTENED AND DID THE THINGS! That's what I care about :)

If you need an extra speaking activity, I've attached a slide with more role play activities I took from a book called "Side by Side 2" on pg 34. I changed their expression "Careful!" to "Pay Attention!" to make it more similar to their student book. I will probably make a photo copy of the page so that the students can look at the pictures, but you don't need the pictures to do the role play. It just helps the more curious students.

I just have the one third grade class at the school where I teach this textbook, so after we went over the expressions "It is important to" and "Make sure you don't," I put them in groups and gave them this simple worksheet and asked them to write some advice to sixth grade elementary school students (who conveniently just covered "you should").
I used my cell phone to record them reading their advice. I added English subtitles to make it a bit easier to understand and plan to show it to my sixth graders next week. If you have multiple classes or it's otherwise unfeasible to make videos, you could have them write cards or letters or something.

Over two weeks, I cover the listen and speak pages in the textbook. The first week, I do listening exercises along with a short activity. The second week, I do the Speak section and the Real-Life Scene and I usually have time for a longer activity. Both weeks are included in one PPT. I have attached the PPT and the worksheets I used. Thank you to the previous posters for their material.
In the first lesson, the students had to think of one animal for every letter of the alphabet. The students then had to draw a comic strip of somebody asking for and giving advice. The second lesson the students played connect 4 on the screen.
