Retaliation against a Racist Korean
« on: April 06, 2015, 03:46:53 pm »
I just read this article from a publication called "The Final Call."

It's a story about a racist Korean store owner who called a black leader a
a monkey, and black people have retaliated to make this racist inbreed pay
back big time. (I use the term inbreed to insult the people who brought him
into the world).

Since I first came to Korea in 2006, I knew all along that the most racist
people in Asia are Koreans. Not all Koreans are racist, but from what I have
seen with regards to the racist images they've mede of black people, the racist
cartoon images, and from all that garbadge from Hollywood films, too many Koreans
have made themselves racially gullible and racially stupid. It makes me think of that one
Korean in the USA who brought his racial hatred against blacks to the USA and got himself into deep hot water. And surely I also have to blame Korean people's bigotry against
black people from the white man.

“Long treated as a stepping-stone or strategic asset by greater powers, Korea has developed an ethnic nationalism based on an ‘us against them’ mentality. Older Koreans will sometimes recall being instructed in their schooldays in the importance of their ‘pure blood,’ which purportedly came from a single, 5,000-year-long unbroken family tree originating with the first Koreans. This notion largely developed in the early twentieth century as a reaction to Japanese colonialism, during which time the invading power sought to portray Koreans as a subset of the Japanese race. Ethnic nationalism was later promoted by South Korea’s military governments as they aimed to foster a sense of unity and pride in country in order to encourage the people to support economic development—a goal itself inspired by the need to transcend Korea’s tragic history.”
  -    from the book, Korea: The Impossible Country

That doesn't sound like racism in Korea originated from white people.

Of the several dozen countries I have traveled to I have been on the receiving end of overt racism and bigotry in only two: Canada and Korea

In Canada I was insulted and verbally abused in Quebec because I was maudit anglais, and in Alberta because I was a XXXXXXX frog...ya just can't win

In Korea I have been refused service in restaurants and a retail store because I am white.

Who cares. Some folks are rude. Life is too short to get hung up about it.

I love how people come into a forum to preach about social injustices, and then spit out gems like this:

"And surely I also have to blame Korean people's bigotry against black people from the white man."

On topic: Ignorance is everywhere. You're going to get people who think they know more than they do about one race/nationality/ethnicity or other, and all they ever know are gross over-generalizations and stereotypes. Prejudice and racism aren't simple problems with a single history or source, and they'll never go away for as long as people wish to continue separating and removing themselves from one group or another, be it in an unassuming restaurant on a street corner or on the soap box in a forum. That's just the way it is. Best you can do is to conduct yourself respectfully, place yourself on the same level as everyone else, have lots and lots of patience, and smile. Some people will learn. For those who refuse to, just don't let them affect you.

Polonium 210. It's very, very pricy, but guaranteed to exact retribution against anyone.

There is more to this story from 2012 than just one side. It doesn't say whether Thomas Pak is a US citizen or not, but he went there as a teenager and his lived ever since. I'd consider him more American than Korean at this point.

This Korean called a spade a spade now they want to go all 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' on him. Blacks are the worst racist on this planet. Why? Because they are the most uncultured and least educated.

I hope you're banned from this website. There's a long history as to why more black people and communities have had poor access to education and can I just say...uncultured?? Seriously?
Most popular genres of modern music have been almost entirely influenced by black culture. The Beatles would never have existed without them. Your comments really are vile.
