Hello All,

I've finally finished all 5 days of my reading camp and have the lesson details and free downloads for ya.

I hope some of you can make use of these for your camp days or lessons based on the same topics/themes.

Day 1: Book - Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox.
Topic: adjectives, where is ______? craft - ninja turtle puppets
It's a cute and simple book and I think I found a PDF file of it a while back online somehow...you'll have to sift through google. Due to copyright I can't upload it.
Lesson plan: http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/07/camp-plan-day-1-ninja-day.html

Day 2: Book - Let's Go Visiting by Sue Williams
Topic: baby farm animals, numbers, counting , craft - farm animal finger puppets
It's a simple book so I added more animals and vocab. Great for grades 3-4 esp.
Lesson plan: http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/07/camp-day-2-animals-lets-go-visiting.html

Day 3: Book - The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Topic: food, butterfly, caterpillar, eating, ate, weekdays Craft - making our own caterpillar books.
It's a classic book that I am sure all of you have read. Love it. And tons of free stuff online.
Lesson Plan: http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/07/camp-day-3-very-hungry-caterpillar-eric.html

Day 4: Book - Finding Jack by Anne James
Topic: rooms of the house, types of houses, simple verbs in the book
Cute book, but needed to make it more difficult for older kids so this day is far more jam packed. Probably my most difficult of days, might be able to use it for 2 camp days instead of 1.
Lesson Plan: http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/07/day-4-camp-plan-finding-jack-ann-james.html

Day 5: Book - Willy The Dreamer by Anthony Browne
Topic: jobs, dreams, past and future.
Beautiful book, I might use some of these for when we are on a job related topic later in the school year. Huge powerpoint in this one, will take up a bit of time.

Disclaimer - before some smart mouth on here says so - not all of these are free because they aren't my personally made resources - I am joined to a site called Twinkl. So some, you might not have access to as you need to be a member of the site. But for the most part these are all free and many of the Twinkl resources can be made in a word doc or by use of image search. All my powerpoints are free for download and most of the crafts also.

And please, I'm starting to get a little tired of the complaints that my hand made and illustrated materials aren't free. Nope, they aren't, sorry. I work hard on my materials and if I illustrate them I'll charge a buck or two now and then. But for the most part my games, ideas, powerpoints, worksheets are free. So if you don't like it, don't buy it. You do not have to visit my blog.

I appreciate all the positive feedback from everyone else , thanks for following!
I hope to one day create an ESL textbook and really appreciate the feedback and support!

Happy Teaching! and happy Summer!!

Ardyn, thanks for posting such great ideas and lessons! You have every right to charge for your creations. No need to feel sorry about it.

I don't want to detract from your great thread, but I am really trying to get my students to read more too. We have so many books in our English library, and many of them are never touched. So my coteacher and In let the students spend 5 mins everyday reading and on Fridays I read a book to the entire class. For camp, I am going to expand on a few books they really enjoyed. Here's one called Aaarrrgghh Spider!

Lesson plan is attached. I got a little lazy writing it out, but you get the gist. It can take two days, or you can read the story and make the choco pie spiders on the same day.

Are your camp lesson plans set up for half day? Seems like a lot of material per day for 3 hours. Just curious.

Hi there!
I know right? But I've actually been asked to do 3 weeks of camp at 3 different schools with all grades from 1-6. So I've over planned. But also for one school I will actually have full days and they're paying me overtime. So that's why the big number of things. I tend to over plan though, just in case something works better or not at all! lol

This is awesome. I love the book, PPT saved!
I wish we had the budget for food this year. I love the choco pie idea! Thank you for the positive vibes! And yes, I used to do the reading thing every morning as well, but now I'm stretched to 3 schools so they don't have it anymore. But we do have a reading club where kids read books (eng) and come to be checked by my co and I. It's not overtime or anything. Just a thing we set up for fun and they get certificates for every book completed. Then at the end of the year they will get prizes.

Keep up the great work!
Happy teaching!  ;D
