The Expanse books quickly fell into being 90% filler with 5% substance at the beginning and end of each book to get you hooked and wanting to come back for more. It's a shame. That first book was really great. I felt like I was wasting my time by book 3. Maybe the TV show will do it differently.

I really like the first Star Trek movie. Saw it first run in the theaters. Say what you want but it gave us the great Klingon battle music.

I'm a classic Trek guy but I do like TNG the best. The series needed some ramp up time but when I caught Measure of a Man (where Data has to prove he's sentient), I was hooked.

Star Trek the original series was unique and ground-breaking in so many ways. The bridge officer crew: white guy captain, alien, black female officer, Russian, Asian...never been done before. Inter-species and inter-racial kiss and sex

Take a look at the various episodes and compare to TNG and you see variations on a theme. Not much truly original in TNG at all.

The Wrath of Khan was amazing. best movie hands down.

IMHO, "Star Trek, The Motion Picture" was the best movie. "Generations"
would be 2nd.

Star Trek TOS was the best series, with Star Trek TNG 2nd. Star Trek TNG
had good stories, but the characters were pretty flat and the sets antiseptic.

Watching TOS, it was amazing the level of eye-candy they got for those episodes. Especially compared to TNG.

Not to mention the whole 60s aesthetic. This was noted in the Deep Space Nine episode that was mixed in with 'The Trouble With Tribbles'.

Like SPQR says, everything in the 90s was so antiseptic.

And yeah, even extras in Original Star Trek were hot. TNG just had a bunch of family sitcom extras.

And yes, for once we all agree on something.

It is pretty cool that the King of Jordan, King Abdullah II, was
and extra on an episode of TNG.

I voted for Star Trek (2009). That folding sword thing was the coolest thing ever.
