Blank Customizeable Bomb Game Template
« on: October 11, 2015, 06:00:59 pm »
***EDIT: I have removed this material. I had uploaded it with the understanding that it was being provided as a free service to my fellow teachers here, but the site admin has decided to lock it behind a paywall. I object to that quite strongly, and will be removing all of my content as a result. I will update this post with more information when I find somewhere new to host it for free.***

Hey, everyone.

Have you ever thought of a theme your kids might like or that would be appropriate for a lesson you're teaching, but you can't find a suitable pre-made game with that theme?

This game template aims to make it easier for you to create a game with the theme of your choice, without having to go through the hassle of creating a selection slide or question/answer/reward slides. You don't have to do any animating or hyperlinking in order to use this template, it's all done for you.

Generally when I make ppt games, it's all the animating and hyperlinking that takes the longest. I figured why not have a blank template ready to use whenever I want to make a new game, that way all I have to worry about is changing the theme/design of the slide, and I won't have to animate a new ABC selection screen or question/answer slides every time I make a new game.

This isn't a zero effort template, of course. At a minimum you'll have to know how to do things like change text and shape colors, and change the design of the background. If you want to get really involved, you'll have to know how to replace one picture with another.

You can certainly also add your own animations and sounds to this game, but if you don't want to, you don't have to do any animations or hyperlinks at all in order for this to work properly.

IMPORTANT: Do not delete or change the order of any of the slides. The hyperlinks won't work properly if you do.

As always, test your this game to make sure it works on your computer.

I hope this is useful to someone, and if anyone has any questions about how to change certain things or do something different (especially if you're struggling with a Korean version of Office), let me know and I'll try to help.

Here's a very blank template I put together earlier. It's appropriately named "generic".

You would need to change the backgrounds as you like, add pictures/etc on the question slides, and then on the "pick a letter" slide, change out the generic picture I threw in there.

Also, if the pic you choose for the latter is a similarly-sized png file, you could rename it to "image6.png", open the powerpoint in a zip program, then go to ppt\media inside it, and then put the file inside there. That should replace all the pics on slide 3 all at once.

The points content for the points slides are taken from other PPTs I've used over the years.
