After Testing/End of Year Teaching Advice, Please?
« on: December 09, 2015, 01:01:22 pm »
So, the year is winding down and I could use a little advice.

I have about a chapter's worth left with some of my classes, and I'm also working without a ct in those classes (ct went on maternity leave, series of events led to no replacement). The hr teacher will show up half the time to help, but when they don't show up it's usually the class I can communicate with the least. That, or the hr teacher knows about as much English as the students.

The kids aren't going to be very focused on lessons since they finished testing, and I'm not sure how focused they'll be on me if I try to make them focus on the usual lessons. Should I shorten the last chapter, and throw in some culture/holiday lessons instead? Or, do I stay the course?

Fun lesson. If the teachers want a communicative activity, I would suggest a "What happens next?" type game. Students would watch a video clip and then guess how the clip ends.

Make it short if you're going to teach, then find something that will keep their hands busy. I usually give them some type of paper craft to cut out and paste.
