Depending on the grade level and English ability, there's plenty you can do.

Animals lesson - maybe just identifying animal names in English or animal features (ie: birds have feathers, fish have scales).

Speaking Lesson - maybe give students scripts and they can act out a scene from the movie

The movie also uses a lot of personality traits such as sly, cute, clever - for middle to high school students it would be a good exercise in having them describe their own personality.

Art lesson - draw your own animal, make an animal mask, etc.

Country vs City lesson (as Zootopia is the big city and Judy's home is like the countryside)

Zootopia also has a lot of themes about discrimination, perhaps high level middle and high school students can understand the material if your willing to tackle that as a lesson.

Hope this helps!

To add to the conversation link, teachers could also do 1) Animal Sounds, 2)Animal Face painting, and 3) Board Games with the aim of trying to get the students to recognize the names of animals.

I've decided to do a Zootopia camp this summer. Feel free to download any of the material below:-

You could teach the main song, "Try Everything" by Shakira.  It's not the easiest to sing, but the theme (keep trying even if you make mistakes) is fantastic for students, especially EFL, where fear of speaking wrong sometimes seems to stop them speaking at all.  It's catchy, too.  Actually, I've been slammed with work lately, and this song is on my morning playlist to help me survive until summer break!  When my 3rd graders heard it playing on their way into class, they immediately shouted "Jootopia!"

The music video is on YouTube and uses mostly scenes from the movie.  And this user made a PPT walkthrough that would be helpful:

Missing a font for my materials?  Try these:
- Handfish Suite by Paul (http://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=9060.0)
- Century Gothic, Segoe Print, & Berlin Sans FB (print-style sans serif, packaged with MS Office)

I love this camp idea and I think i'm going to loosely base mine around it too.

I found this food craft that would be great for this = http://www.jacksandkate.com/bunny-food/

It's dipped pretzel sticks in melted candy (I'd use white chocolate with food colouring) and oreo dirt!

Edit 3: Realized during camp this am that a chunk of lyrics were missing: http://m.blog.naver.com/fortune7530/220630838334 - Mea culpa - Have attached updated Korean/English lyrics

Edit 2: Revised Korean/English lyrics based on the Korean dubbed version of Zootopia: https://youtu.be/wyl50aNL7xY  or https://youtu.be/dWghPc83mDY

Edit: Lyrics in Korean/English

I too am doing a bit of Zootopia during summer camp. In addition, to learning Try Everything by Shakira (aka Gazelle) will also try coordinated dance moves via youtube: "Try Everything - Shakira (Disney's Zootopia) Cia Daniel Saboya (Coreografia)" https://youtu.be/lt2O7s4cF5k

I'm not basing my camp on it but I will be showing it to my students. So I made some worksheets and a PPT for it! Hope it comes in useful for someone else.

My coT is teaching the "Try Everything" song to his after school group. He plays it a line at a time and gets them to tell him what they hear and then try to figure out the meaning. This is a much higher level activity but you may be able to adapt it.

This is good stuff. Thanks.

Check your spelling in the PPT though. You spelled assistant wrong.

Coming to this party late... but you can find the movie on youtube. It is 1800 won to rent I think. And thanks to all for these attachments! I am already planning for winter camp and this looks like a fun lesson.   ;D

Thanks for the song stuff. I'm also doing a Zootopia winter camp. Don't have anything finished up yet but will share what I have when it's nearer completion.

We finished the text book so my 5th graders are also watching Zootopia.

In one of our upcoming lessons we will learn the song from the movie as well.

I think singing the whole song in English is too difficult for them so I found a collaboration version of the song that has parts in both Korean and English.

Here is an accompanying lyrics worksheet with fill in the blanks and room to write the Korean translation for the English lyrics
DON'T MIND! DON'T MIND!
