Different Cultures, Different Weddings
« on: May 31, 2016, 09:51:53 AM »
I did a lesson a couple weeks ago that went pretty well.
The topic is different cultures and their wedding traditions. The students found it quite interesting.
I attached the worksheet and powerpoint as well as a sleeping elephants game.
I handed out the worksheet at the start of the class so the students could follow along and fill in the blanks.
I played the video clips after discussing the relevant culture. Feel free to use them or not.

Thanks! Really great lesson. I'll have to try it sometime.
I don't really understand the game though.
Are they supposed to have 3/4s of the sentence and try to piece to together which country it is? Or get a piece each and work together to get the answer?

Each student in the group gets a piece of the sentence. They then put the sentence together . From the sentence, they should be able to figure out the country. The points scheme is also on the powerpoint as well. :)
I noticed I forgot to attach the videos.
